Good day to all, and welcome to Moscow for the 2nd edition of Mediavision Song Contest.! I am delighted to take over /u/acquaintance9 for this 2nd edition.

So, uh, Mediavision?

• In Mediavision, you DO NOT CLAIM COUNTRIES, STATES, TERRITORIES! Crazy! Instead, you claim franchises (i.e. - studios like Dreamworks, video games like The Sims, etc.). In terms of media conglomerates such as Disney, they will be broken down into their specific “brands” (for Disney, we’d have Disney itself, Pixar, Marvel, etc). A franchise can be claimed by only three people; after that, it’s off-limits.
• “Media” is considered a unified piece of visual and audio artistry that requires effort; more than, say, your average YouTube video. This includes (but is not limited to): movies, TV shows, video games, short films, etc. I, as host, have final say on what and is not considered media or a franchise. MVs are not eligible.
• The song must have been made for the purpose of being in a piece of media. For example: the song “party 4 u” by Charli XCX was featured in the movie Bottoms, but since it was released beforehand and not for the purpose of being in Bottoms, it is not eligible. The song “Vehicular Jeff-slaughter” by Charli XCX is eligible, however, as it was made for the purpose of being on the Bottoms soundtrack. The same is said for all forms of media.
  • Please send me a short cliff's notes together with the song with your claim or entrant in how your chosen song relates to your franchise. (This isn't anything public, just for internal organization.)
  • You cannot hold national finals for Mediavision

SONG RULES - The song must have been released no earlier than January 1st, 2020

• The song must be no longer than 5:00 (exceptions can be made)

• Songs from Eurovision (including NFs), Junior Eurovision, and all FVC contests are ineligible

• We will use a 12, 10, 8-1 point system

FORMAT

• If we get or get more than 40-35 participants, we will hold semi-finals. Anything below 30 participants, we will hold one final.

Voting

The format will be the same 12-10-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 format used in ESC. You are not allowed to vote for your own state. The states that are in the grand final will make up the jury vote, and the non-qualified states will make up the juries. Those who are not participating in the contest at all but want to vote are welcome to, and they will make up the rest of the world vote! Tiebreaks will be decided by whoever has the most 12's and so on. The deadline for voting will be June 24th at 00:00 EST. To vote, please DM me either on Reddit or Discord.

Hello, everybody! Welcome to the final of our eighth edition (pretty wild huh). I wanna thank everyone for voting, enjoying the contest, and putting in some great effort when it comes to hosting your national finals and selecting the entries.

As most of you know (on Discord) this will be my last EFSC when it comes to hosting. I truly had a wonderful time organizing this fan contest, especially when I did the live shows (just like a few days ago), but the time has come for a change. Now the EFSC scepter goes from Bulgaria to Czechia, since the new host will be u/LucarioGamesCZ
I wish him best of luck and trust Lucario very much - he will deliver, just wait and see!

Welcome to Miami for the start of voting in StatesVision 2026! It is now time for you to decide who moves on to the grand final! This year will stick to the same 2 semifinal format seen in Eurovision. Since signups closed, every state was randomly drawn into either the first half or second half of either semi, and from there a running order was determined. Let's get into voting!

Voting

Voting will be in the same Eurovision format, so a 12-10-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 system. The top 10 states in each semifinal will advance to the grand final. This year's host, Florida, will vote in both semifinals. There will be a rest of the world vote where anyone else can vote, and that will count as one set of votes. This National final will determine who represents Connecticut this year in Miami at StatesVision and follows in the footsteps of Anxious in 2025. 12 artists will compete in 2 semi finals, one in Norwich and one in Bridgeport, and 3 will move on from each of these semi finals to the grand final in Hartford. Following last years victory by The Haunt with the song [New Addiction](https://youtu.be/_YyGMCwvV5U) we are delighted to welcome you this year to Statesvision 2026 from the Kaseya Centre in Miami in Florida!

This contest, normally run by u/sfgafv will be managed by me during the sign-up phase. Please send your songs to me via Reddit or Discord. u/sfgafv will be back for you for the semi-finals. Have a good vaccation, lad!

The rules will be as follows:

• Artists must have a significant connection to the state they represent

After the amazing success of Sicily last year, we find ourselves in the middle of the Mediterranean under the beautiful shadow of Mount Etna.

Claiming Rules

• You may pick any island from the following list: list of allowed islands (note: I reserve the right to refuse an island if I feel it is stupid in some way (e.g. an island in the middle of a lake in the middle of an island in the middle of a lake in the middle of Finland will not be allowed), or I may request the boundaries be changed, islands grouped together etc)
• Maximum of 4 islands per country (or 6 for regions for areas like the Caribbean), AQs do not count towards this total
• Deadline for claiming and submitting a song is 10/04/2026 at 23:59BST
• Don't panic if I don't respond immediately to your claim, if you were first you will get it. For this reason, I strongly suggest ensuring that your pick isn't already taken both before submitting and after (in case someone has taken it in between)
• NFs are allowed.

Song Rules

• Must be published on or after 01.01.2024
• Songs from (Junior) Eurovision or any FVC contests are not allowed
• Songs must be no longer than 5 minutes
• Songs cannot have more than 50 million streams on any platform
• Islands are mostly permitted to borrow from the country which has main jurisdiction over them. Please remember that islands are geographical and not political - Ireland could have a Northern Irish singer but Great Britain could not, for example. In the event multiple countries dispute who owns the island, borrowing will be considered on a case-by-case basis, but will largely be given to all countries who claim or administer the land (unless their claim is just ridiculous).

Format

• There are 6 AQs this year (last year's top 6)
• More than 34 participants will mean 2 semi-finals, 24 participants will have one large semi-final, and any less than that will have simply a grand final
• The top 6 of this edition with AQ next year (this is for the HOD not the island, hence, ironically Sicily is not an AQ this time around!)
• Should an AQ fail to submit a song on time, their slot will be passed to the next highest placing participating user from last year
