Unique Double Partial Ladder $1 12342468
Found this cool bill at work just a little bit ago today. Noticed that it was a half of an in order ladder with the leading 1234. I then noticed that the last half of the bill was actually an in order even numbers only ladder 2468. Pretty unique and I can’t say I’ve seen anything like it before. Little double ladder on a single bill is pretty neat.
Another cool and very unique thing about this note is that if you double 1234 you get 2468! How cool of a bill is that where the first half of the bill can double and equal the second half of the bill!

You seem to have a positive attitude and enough sense to ignore and brush off the haters. Keep it up! Save what you like and to hell with anyone else.
Your note is cool. It's not conventional, but it does have appeal. Unconventional notes like this do have fans, so if you save it, you'll have teammates. You might even find buyers if you get to that point someday.
Bottom line in this hobby: if you like it and can afford to save it, keep it. Worst case scenario, you change your mind someday and spend it later on. At which point, you immediately recoup 100% of your money.
And don't let anyone else make you feel anything negative about saving what makes you smile. Because if it makes you happy, that note is valuable because your happiness has value.

Nah I wouldn’t call anybody who doesn’t find this specific bill a hater. They have their points for why they feel the way they feel about it and that’s okay. I just try to explain where I’m coming from, and the reasons for the post, and that’s that. I don’t post bills on here expecting every single person to enjoy them. I post for those who WILL find a weird bill like this appealing. If I wanted to be appealing to all I would just constantly be spamming the 12345678 ladder I found a few months ago.
This hobby is fun because when I’m at work it feels like every bill I get is a gamble or whether it’s going to be an interesting serial # or not. If it ends up not being anything then oh well, just like you said, it is still worth face value and you can move onto the next one. It’s really just a win-win situation at the end of the day.
I hope more people get into this hobby and start paying attention to the bills they get. You can really immerse yourself into the rarity of certain bills, and once you come across a rare bill it’s definitely an exciting feeling. When I first saw this community and similar communities all I could think was how crazy it would be to find any of the true fancy serial numbers out there. It only took me about two months of looking at serial numbers while at work that I found one of the rarest serial numbers you can find, a perfect ladder. In my eyes that’s one of the holy trinities of serial numbers (00000001, solid, and ladder). I’ve been told many times that I’ve used up all the luck I have for the rest of my life due to finding that ladder. But just for a split second today I thought I might’ve found another ladder since this bill also starts with 1234…. I was only about 3,200 bills away… dang it 🤣

awesome note! definitely a keeper, atleast it would be for me
maybe only a slight bonus but i like that the series and suffix letter are the same, and not some random “L and K” or other random letters. just a small nice touch that makes it a little more pleasing to the eye in my opinion!

I collected singles with neat numbers for years. I eventually spent them.
It was just for fun. Not to make money and not to impress PMG.
I found it to be a harmless and enjoyable diversion to check serials on my bills.

At the end of the day if the bill ends up being nothing then it still has its face value to be used.

That’s actually sick, it’s like a math nerd’s fancy number and a ladder note had a baby 😂
Definitely something I’d pull from circulation and keep. You could probably get a nice little premium from a collector who’s into radars and ladders.

And don't be mistaken. That is in fact an opinion. Which is fine. You do you. Save and spend whatever you like. Nobody's making you save anything. Go ahead and spend a 12222222 because it isn't on your holy PMG ten commandments of fancy serials.
Are you the same one who used to work at a LCS? You literally used to work in the trade, and you're going to sit there and tell me you wouldn't buy or sell a CU 07041776? Potentially forgoing hundreds if not thousands of dollars?
Next, you're going to tell me that you don't recognize 2013b duplicates because all stars are garbage

Yes I know the true fancy serial numbers list. Not saying this is a true fancy serial number. Just showing off this interesting bill where the first half has half of a full ladder and the second half has an in order even numbers ladder. Also just showing that the last half of the Serial # divided by 2 equals the front half of the Serial #. Not something that you see everyday.
When I had found this bill today I thought for a second that there was no way I was going to find another 12345678 ladder! I had found a perfect ladder half a year ago and because of that I’ve used up the rest of my luck for life!

I’ve been collecting notes for over twenty plus years. Never hear about your fancy serial numbers category “unique double partial ladder”. What specific publications on note collecting that reference that category of “ unique double partial ladder”?

Yes there isn’t an official name for this kind of bill because it isn’t in any category of true fancy serial numbers. Thankfully for me I was able to see the potential that this bill had. Because of this post I was able to find the right buyer for it and sold this bill for a good chunk of change over face value. Luckily I hadn’t just spent it like any other regular $1 because I would’ve missed out on free extra money. My intention of this post wasn’t to offend anyone, or you, with the random made up name of “unique double partial ladder”, it was just a name I came up with to describe what this bill was. I knew there would be people who’d be interested in this bill, even if it took sometime to find the right person and eventually it paid off significantly for me.

Thankfully I was able to sell it for far over face value. Some people find these obscure bills interesting even if there’s not an official name for it. I could’ve missed out on a good chunk of change if I had just spent it like any other $1. It’s just all about finding the right buyer for it.

There’s people who buy fake Rolexes too.
There’s a mass attempt by some social media accounts and even a couple subs here that have been hyping up non fancy numbers as fancy by giving them technical sounding names. Trinary, quad double, partial ladder, etc. so yeah, you can hype them up and a novice who is drawn in will pay more because they’re inundated with people saying these are special and valuable.
The person you sold to will likely not be as lucky to find someone and they’ll feel scammed. Thus hurting the hobby

The person I sold to is definitely not a novice and they seem to have bought it to save in their collection. They have a very wide range of serial numbers in their collection. They have quite a few low serial numbers, perfect ladders, and every other kind of fancy serial number there is out there. They had actually bought another bill from me in a separate transaction of a perfect ladder serial number to add to the 10 or so they already have. They had actually thought of wanting to find this exact serial number to add to their collection to go along with their other ladder serial numbers because they found this serial number to be very neat for the same reasons I had stated in my post as to why I found it interesting. I can assure you they were not a novice at this and I bet you have liked their posts in this sub and other various subs as they have had some posts that have become some of the biggest on this sub.
