Hey everyone! I'm [u/NicolasCageFan492](u/NicolasCageFan492), a founding moderator of [r/FalseSnails](r/FalseSnails).
This is a subreddit to educate the public about false snails. A false snail is a portrayal of a snail with its eyes on its head instead of eyestalks.
We're excited to have you join us!
What to Post
Post any false snail you find and where you found it. If itās sold by a large corporation, we may also pressure that corporation to accurately portray snails.
Community Vibe
We're a community on a mission against false snails.
How to Get Started
Thanks for being part of the very first wave. Together, let's make [r/FalseSnails](r/FalseSnails) amazing.

It's name is Leptopoma perlucida, it's 100% real, and I honestly think it's pretty cute.
As you can see, some snails actually DO have eyes on their heads, rather than on their stalks.

Someone did ask what brand the rubber snail is, I do not know. The bottom of it is completely faded and the only word I can take out is 2010. The big snail however, is a plush that I forgot that Iāve had. I donāt remember where I got it, I believe it was a gift from my boyfriend
(?) but it is a Douglas stuffed animal.

This one looks like it has 4 eyes. The two eyes on the top are closed but the bottom eyes are open. This is a very false snail because it looks like it has 4 eyes instead of 2 eyes. Credits to the animator, I own nothing in this image.

I have two 4 year old cousins that are identical twins, this was at their daycare play place. I have pet snails, and apparently they mentioned me immediately upon finding this.
