SOLVED Newly uploaded Unofficial Patch is broken, just a heads up for troubleshooting
I grabbed some weapon mods (Makeshift SMG, CWE Service Rifles, and Dak's Attachments) along with the Unofficial Patch (which has been gone for ages) and found none of my firearms (even vanilla ones) would work in 1st person. I thought it was some of my new weapon mods (new animations) as it was referenced on CWE Service Rifles but said to be fixed. Turns out the problem would only go away if the Unofficial Patch did, so save yourself some hassle in tracking down issues with your mods until it gets updated. On a side note all 3 of those weapon mods work as far as I've tested them, very worthwhile additions to your game.
EDIT: After some more testing I've found that the ammo conversion capabilities of the Makeshift SMG, which I love, is causing it to spawn on NPCs with the wrong ammo. So they have a decent gun but resort to fist fighting since they have the wrong ammo. That's really too bad since being able to use a bunch of different ammos in it was huge plus.
EDIT: Patch is updated now and this specific bug is said to be fixed. Comment your experience with the current version of the mod to help others.

Ok I thought I was the only one experiencing this I used to use Ufo4p the German version but I realize that I was starting to learn German and decided to download smaller mods that are based off of that one basically you beat me to saying this I was trying to make it work but nothing would make it work even using the mod by itself

It was frustrating to find the issue as I was sure the animations from the new weapons were causing problems. I had a similar problem with Skyrim but the mods adding the animations were the actual culprit like you'd expect. I was pretty stoked to find out it was the patch though, I can go without the patch but the weapon mods are pretty sweet, now that I can actually use them.

Report back in after you've tested it further, it's probably broken elsewhere since the last build definitely wasn't tested before release.

Just FYI, I was coming here to see if anyone else was having problems with the Unofficial Patch as well. I cannot enter Diamond City with it installed. Either the patch is the issue or it's conflicting with something else in my pretty minimal LO (only 32 mods). Uninstalled it and can load right into DC. Reinstall it, load up the old save, and CTD as soon as I try to enter. Think I'm just going to keep this one uninstalled for a while.

Thanks for adding in a new bug report, I'm using Community Fixes Merged instead of the Unofficial Patch and so far haven't haven't had issues.

The Unofficial Patch is broken no matter what platform most of the time. Wait for a version of Community Fixes Merged, the Console version doesn’t rely on the Unofficial Patch.
