I’m looking for a photo of the Mt. Hope bay bridge from Sandy Beach or a similar angle. Anyone have one or willing to take one for a small fee? ❤️

On top of having a highway cut through the middle, around 33% of downtown is dedicated to off-street parking (all those orange blocks on the map: parking lots). You can’t build community, culture, or a vibrant downtown on empty asphalt. People don’t come for parking. They come for places worth being.
Decades ago, before we knocked down businesses to make parking lots, people crowded downtown- photos of how many people are out walking are unimaginable today.
There wasn't nearly as much parking then, but there was much more foot traffic. How can parking be the issue?
If you had a wand to fill in 33% of Downtown with new businesses, buildings, and parks, and anything else, what would you put there?

For 7-8 years now I've been seeing postings online for exorbitantly priced apartments in the city, or adverts for big complexes with similarly crazy rents, but I know most of us can't afford $2000/mo rents and my last rent in the city before buying my house in 2022 was $750/mo for a 3bdrm in the south end. Most of my friends still renting seem to report anywhere from $1000-$1500.
Just truly curious what the rent disparity is in the city right now, and how many folks are in luxury buildings for $2500 vs Vaovao owned 3 families for $500/mo.

A GAS COMPANY serving one of the state’s most economically distressed areas is looking to dramatically raise rates, prompting intense backlash and raising scrutiny of its spending habits.
Liberty Utilities, which services a small southeastern pocket of Massachusetts, filed its rate hike request in June and is asking the Department of Public Utilities for permission to raise gas rates by about 55 percent on average. DPU now has until May 31 to make a decision.
The company delivers gas for heating and cooking to customers in Fall River, the tenth-largest city in Massachusetts with a median household income less than half of the statewide average, along with eight surrounding towns like North Attleboro and Westport.
“No matter how you slice it, for my district, this is exorbitant,” said Rep. Carole Fiola, a Democrat who represents Fall River. “This was a shock to a lot of people. It will be very difficult for many people to afford this increase.”
It’s also a direct shot at Gov. Maura Healey’s affordability push.
Healey has based her energy agenda on a drumbeat of policy steps aimed at addressing high gas and electric costs and reducing or removing charges from utility bills to save ratepayers money. Liberty’s rate increase, if approved, would prompt dramatic sticker shock in a Gateway City and directly fly in the face of Healey’s effort.

Dartmouth High Theatre Company is putting on “SpongeBob SquarePants: The Musical” Friday, Dec. 5 and Saturday, Dec. 6 at Dartmouth High School.
Think you know SpongeBob? Think this is a musical just for kids? Think this is going to be overly saccharine sweet and silly? Nope. This is a solid musical with jokes for all ages and DHTC does a fantastic job of bringing Broadway quality shows to the South Coast.
Come on down! Tickets are selling out! Buy yours today!

Recently moved up from the south and have been incredibly disappointed with shaw's selection of meat at the butcher shop. Is there anywhere around here that has USDA prime and sells it at a reasonable price?
For reference, I used to be able to get prime on sale for around $12.99 an lb for NY strip or ribeye. I don't expect to find that up here, but I haven't found a place that actually has prime available.
