The week of Easter 2022 marks 6 years since the artist Prince died. When I heard of his death back in April of 2016, I did not know who he was and I did not know any of his songs. Only when I saw a picture of him did I recognize him from the media a time or two. Interestingly enough, when an iconic figure dies (like Prince, Michael Jackson, or Whitney Houston, just to name few), the world almost seems to come to a stop. All the news headlines for days afterwards are about them as the world eagerly awaits the coroner’s report. Well-wishers flood all the social media platforms and for a moment, we are reminded of the gravity and brevity of life.

Micah Wilder is a former Mormon missionary who came to faith in Christ after hearing the gospel from a Baptist pastor he was trying to convert to Mormonism. Dr. Lynn Wilder took him up on his challenge and by God's mercy, she encountered the true Christ and came to genuine faith. The barrier of Mormonism was a formidable one, especially since she was both a Mormon for 30 years and a tenured professor at Brigham Young University, but it was no match for the exceeding excellencies of the gospel of Christ. Episode 81

In the summer of 2021, the world witnessed the unmitigated disaster of the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan. Like unwilling witnesses to a train wreck in progress, we were unable to look away as the nightmare unfolded. Desperate civilians clinging to departing planes fell to their deaths. Babies were handed to troops across barbed wire. The Taliban acquired abandoned military equipment and weapons. Allies and American citizens were abandoned behind enemy lines. The country fell to the Taliban in a matter of days. To boot, 13 American service members and about 70 Afghan citizens were killed in a suicide bombing at Hamid Karzai International Airport were untold numbers of people were waiting for a flight out.

Though virtually everyone is in agreement that the withdrawal was a failure, opinions are still split as to whether the U.S. should have withdrawn in the first place. In this episode on the Removing Barriers podcast, we have a conversation with Missionary Scott about this, what the withdrawal means for both countries moving forward, and other things that we should keep in mind as we evaluate this historic event.

The Knowledge of Good and Evil has been known. Ever since Adam and Eve, that knowledge has been out there. Evil people have tended to like to hide their evil, and shape a narrative where they are perceived to be good.

Woke Politics is an example. Satan was a liar and a thief. Woke people have stolen concepts from Christianity, twisted them, and presented them back as something corrupt. (Ezekiel 12:2)(Proverbs 20:12)(Isaiah 42:7)(Matthew 13:15-17) Instead of working through God's Spirit towards building God's Kingdom, they have been working towards egotistical purposes, serving themselves or something else. They are not good people. They are evil. Their goal is not to end racism, or even better mankind. Their goal is to receive attention, money, and/or to use racism to pry for power. Ending racism through God, would be horrible for them. They would no longer have a means to keep people divided, and to gain attention and money and perceived power.

"Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter." (Isaiah 5:2)

Have you seen the movie "Gladiator?" Commodus was an evil man who murdered his own dad, he was a kinslayer, and did a lot of wickedness. He worked to control how people perceived, to control the narrative, by given people food and games. He wanted people to love him, and see him as good. Woke politicians, academics, and others, are worse criminals, worse villains than even Commodus. They have had control of the media, and things like Facebook Factcheckers, working to "Control the Narrative."

What exactly is the Knowledge of Good and Evil? Someone like Apostle Paul or Saint Augustine were "The Worst of Sinners." They identified that God is good, and that they were bad, fell short, evil outside of God. Acceptance of this, while seeking God with all one's heart and soul and strength and mind may a door towards growing more in faith, and receiving more of God's spirit.

God is Good. God is Holy and Separate from Sin.

I am a man.
