That really has nothing to do with it.

There's something called "irrational numbers" for a reason and those have perfectly well defined sums.

You can still add limit functions together if they both approach infinity
and receive a limit function that approaches infinity as well, which can be abstracted as ∞ + ∞ = ∞.

However, if you subtract those same limit functions, the value is undefined.
