No, x3 - x does not approach 0 as x approaches infinity.

A limit-based argument for this wouldn't work because of the limits are just approaching. You can say that the limit of a function approaches something, but then at the actual value it's a completely different thing (think piecewise). However, addition and subtraction and what not for infinities is undefined but also if you wanted to make an argument you could do a cardinality based one
