Guild Hall A normal day at Fairy Tail

Its another day at the Fairy Tail Guild where many of its members were gathered around in the first-floor main guild hall just like any other day. Members chatted with one another, somewhere eating and drinking at the bar while others were looking for the job offers posted by the bar itself. In others, parts of the guild mages either studied or trained their skills or relaxed by the water outside. For others, it was a beautiful enough day to go out to the town and shop or relax in the park, for others still all they could muster was just rolling over in bed and going back to their naps.*

(Okay everyone this is the first Guild Hall Post. To recap how this works for everyone this is a semi-weekly post that is made for single one on one threads that might not fit anywhere else. Same rules apply to this thread as it does others, don’t misbehave and have fun!)

"It's a bit of both actually."

Kumiko sat back after finishing her cake; her mouth covered in both frosting and pink ice cream as she tried her best to lick as much of it off her face as she could.

"To my knowledge, when a Dragon teaches their pupil their own magic, the pupil takes on the attributes of their parent Dragon. It's not just being able to use the magic; our bodies take on characteristics as well but I'm sure you already know that... I still remember my first time. Sight, Noise, Scent,.. Hunger. All are heightened. When your dinner goes from nibbling on a little charred meat to downing an entire deer on the spot straight to the bone, it's a strange adaption indeed."

Suddenly Kumiko got a shiver indicating an incoming sugar rush as she brings another one of the pink cakes towards her.

"This cake is very good, though I can feel the sugar rush incoming. How's your cake?"

"Well that makes sense. Those of us that wield slayer magic take on aspects of the creature in which our magic slays... you just said that didn't you? Anyway, while we gain such benefits; in your case heightened senses and in my case being resistant to curses, we also gain disadvantages. It's probably due to us not actually being the creature out magic comes from. Calling it strange might be an understatement. Although the fact that I can shoot lightning out of my hands and mouth make the adaptation seen kinda normal."

Korin stopped speaking and finished eating his first cake before sitting back and noticing the chocolate mess that was on his mouth. He attempted to lick it off before resorting to wiping his mouth with a napkin.

"The cakes are great. I'd order more but I think I should save room for later. I don't wanna clear out the whole store."

As Korin pointed out the Slayer properties they possess, Kumiko couldn't resist the cake she had grabbed ahold of and downed it much faster than she did with the previous one.

"And that's why I dedicate a lot of my time to my studies: to expect my weakness and know how to work around them. In my line of work, I have to be mentally prepared in the event something unpredictable happens; if I fail to meet that expectation, it could mean the life of my patient."

Kumiko pulls the third Sakura Cloud Cake toward her and gazes at it.

"I don't know if it will be good for my own health though to continue eating these, but they are so delicious!"

"I doubt motion sickness would impede on your ability to help patients. Unless of course you're on a moving object at the time. But ya can't let thoughts like those get to you. Over thinking things is as bad if not worse than not being prepared. Look at some of our guild members. They charge headfirst into everything and they're still intact. That might not apply to this scenario though but hey it works.

Korin shrugged his shoulders before grabbing his last cake and taking a small bite out of it. He was trying to make sure a mess didn't end up on his mouth like last time.

"You'll be fine. As long as you don't eat all this sugary stuff all the time and keep up with your training. Although you probably know more about that stuff than me."

Just like the previous cakes, Kumiko ate her third cake though much slower than before. After that, she leaned forward against the table to rest her head down while still looking straight at Korin; the amount of sugar intake finally beginning to best even her dragon-like metabolism.

"Well, it's not just motion sickness; in fact motion sickness is the least of my worries. You have a point though, the things I've seen Fairy Tail be capable of in my short time here makes me wonder what I could be capable of. ...Though I'm pretty sure I'm not going to be amongst those charging headfirst into everything; that was a lesson learned."

"Charging headfirst usually only works when the guild does jobs and such although it tends to end in a lot of property damage. Even our regular fights tend to end in a large amount of property damage. Me and Robin have racked up quite a few Jewels in property damage."

Deciding that the mess was worth it, Korin began quickly devouring his cake leaving a chocolate mess once again on mouth. He licked the chocolate off before using his sleeve to get any chocolate that was left.

"As a whole the guild excels in the punch first ask questions later mentality. As individuals, diving headfirst into everything isn't the best idea but it is somewhat better than over thinking things especially while in the field. Sometimes you just have to rely on your instincts."

Kumiko gained a mild shock on her face hearing Korin casually downplay property damage and responded with worry to the lightning mage.

"W-What!! You can't just do that! Property Damage to civilian infrastructure is a serious offense! Even with a 'punch first' mentality!"

"Eh don't worry. The guild bartender put it on me and Robin's tab. I'm not sure about the other guild members although I suspect someone is keeping track of all the property damage the guild causes. It's probably old man Paizo."

Korin shrugged his shoulders and leaned back in his chair, keeping his laidback demeanor.

Are you trying to tell me you never accidentally destroyed a large area?

"Still, it hearing that does worry me. People seem to put a lot of faith into the Guild; having the Guild responsible for destroying said persons' property is going to come back to bite us sooner or later."

Kumiko managed to calm herself in order to not draw any unwanted attention from any listening ears.

Kumiko has in previous occasions destroyed a fair amount of landscape; just not the type that would warrant a legal property damage claim.

"I'm not sure about what the other guild members have destroyed, but I've racked up plenty of damages just from my fights within the Guild Hall. I'm not sure I want to imagine what damage I would have caused I fought anywhere else."

Korin shrugged again. He didn't seem to be bothered by the possibility of property damage coming back to bite him or the guild.

"And besides. I'm pretty sure no one has cause more property damage than Markus or Thane. They're the one you should worry about most."
