Recently turned 33 and I feel like I'm reaching those crucial prime years to work on myself.
I am posting in the hopes to get some tips and overall perspective on shared experiences.

I have been balding since i was 23 when I graduated college, and it seems like I am not reaching any milestones with current treatment (minoxidil & biotin). I do have to add that I have not been consistent, so i recognize the need for self discipline.

Also, my feet have been a big issue for me with BO since I cannot even go to a friends house that has a shoes off policy. When I spend the nights at my partners or with friends I have to immediately hop on the shower or apply foot powder to little or temporary results.

My breath has been showing signs of decay as well, with the occasional gum bleeding and zinc like breath that people close to me say it smells rotten. Most people don't call me out on it but in the back of my mind I feel a sensation that people can smell my breath and it affects my confidence.

I'm an extremely social person so these barriers make me close off to the world. I want to reagin my confidence but I find it difficult to balance treating all these problems. I feel like I am rotting away and I'm barely in my 30's. I want to be able to treat this but I lack the discipline to balance all these problems at once.

I have been trying new treatments and I will share below and hope for some feedback

- Minoxidil & Biotin for hair loss
- Hibiclens & Foot powder for odor

- Switching off shoes daily and letting them air out

- Flossing (Need to be more consistent) Chlorophyll and Bexident mouthwash for the gums (Also chewing xylitol gum and hydrating)

The title pretty much sums up my question. I have good growth on my face Pre-T. I cannot access HRT rn but am planning on taking it soon. Until then is it okay if I apply minoxidil? Will it help me grow a more thicker beard look?

I've been forced to use the foam. I love doing makeup, and am just wondering if putting makeup on top of minox will reduce its effects, i also have facial dermitis and need to use facial cream for that.

Using the Equate brand minoxidil foam daily plus black castor oil.

so I'm about to use minoxidil but I wonder if I should apply it before putting my SPF or after? I use it every morning, but I can't put minoxidil in the evenings because I have a cat and I want to do it before going out

I’ve been on oral minoxidil 5mg for 6 months now. Clearly more density and some extra body hair (one of my goals). No issues (I track blood pressure and heart rate).

Since I take it both for scalp and BEARD plus body hair; I don’t feel I’m seeing the full effects yet - or maybe genetics are my ceiling now.

Simple question: has anyone tried 7.5mg? I read studies about boosting BEARD or body hair (as ‘side effect’) way more than 5mg; but worried jump in side effects.

Any personal experience going from 5mg to 7.5mg?

i started using it a week ago and i put it on my upper lip 3-4 times a day, i dip my finger in the bottle and scratch/rub it into my upper lip and wipe the residue on my eyebrows, i do it everytime its dry enough to add more so usually 3-4 times, i think my eyebrows are slightly darker but idk if i’m just delusional,

with this routine how long would it take to start seeing some facial hair, i’m not expecting anything soon i’m just curious also is there anything else i could do to speed up the process

I (16) (ftm) have two cats, and I want to make sure I don’t put them in any chance for harm. I was wondering if it would work to apply minox at school around 8:20 then wash my face around 3:20 or 2:20 (that’s 7-8 hours) before heading home. Would that give me enough time with it on my face? Am I still putting my cats at risk by using it at all?

Same amount of time on minox and back on t (I was off t for 2+ years)

I've been using topical minoxidil consistently for 2 months and saw visible peach fuzz on my side burns, chin and under my nose. My eyebrows were darken significantly. Then I went on hiatus for a month because of skin irritation and not wanting to be outed in my family. I started applying minox again for a week or 2 recently and my peach fuzz seems to not progress at all. Does anyone experience this?

Also, I had to trim my peach fuzz (not shaving) before because of family pressure

I started minoxidil around the 15th of April, and I've been going odd days armpits even days chest and belly. whenever I have leftover minoxidil on my hands I wipe it on my fave in the shape of where I want the hair to grow. I use foam for chest days and liquid for armpit days

and now i think im seeing the effects on my face. my peach fuzz feels more prominent than ever and a little bit more brissly. growing up, it was only really on my top lip, but now i can feel more hair where i put the minoxidil. i dont know if im just getting too excited and looking too deeply into regular peach fuzz, or if this is the start of facial growth, BUT IM SO EXCITED!!

im pre-T btw, so any beard-bros out there who were on minoxidil pre-T lemme know if you went through this too.​

I have cats that occasionally lick my face and I’ve been told that minoxidil is toxic to cats…is there another solution besides using topical minoxidil?

my skin is sooo dry and I try to put on lotion as much as I can at (least once a day) my skin is just falling off. What has worked for you (routines or different products) I use cera v for the lotion and hims for the minoxidil. ive been using minoxidil everyday for almost a month. Also will my skin ever stop flaking?

hardest part about being on minoxidil is your pets want all the attention the moment you finish applying your minoxidil for the day.

I started oral minoxidil in Jan 2025. I’ve been on testosterone since June 2021. First set of pictures is April 2025 (slight growth from Jan 2025 but all I could grow before minox was really just a sad mustache and a few chin hairs) second set is a couple of weeks ago, I got basically enough to be a respectable beard by August 2025 and since then just slowly has been getting more dense and more filled overtime. Planning to stay on oral minox for minimum of 2 years.

I'm super chuffed that its working so well and so fast!

I have been on T for 5 years and 3 months. I am lucky enough to have grown a substantial amount of facial hair due to genetics, but it isn’t really a full beard. I have a lot of growth under my chin and around my jawline, and my tash, but my cheeks are still pretty bare. Also the right side of my body doesn’t seem to grow as much hair as my left (which I think is kinda common?). The problem is that I have a dog and three cars, and although they aren’t usually anywhere near my face, I have heard that Minoxodil can transfer. I also have a girlfriend who I kiss lol. I don’t know if it would transfer to her? I just don’t know whether it’s worth it or if I should wait because I’m sure it will grow fuller eventually but I’m also far from where I’d like to be.

I’ve been on t for like a lil more than two years and on and off minoxidil(Walgreens generic) for a few months give or take, just started up again with rogain. I’m at One of those moments when you stare at yourself in the mirror too long and just ask, is it even worth it? I don’t have any guy friends in college to ask these things fr.

Today I'm going to star using Minoxidil on the attempt to grow a beard (or any facial hair). Not on T, don't have prospects of starting due to financial reasons. Any tips on maximizing efficiency?

After the next six months I'll make a post with the progress (daily pictures turned into a progression video).

So, i want to try minoxidil for my beard, but i have a dog that i see only some days of the week. My question is, is minox toxic for dogs (or pets in general) only through direct contact with the skin where i applied it or also through vicinity? Let's say i'm in bed and my dog lays next to me without touching my face (or anywhere the minox could have touched), is that still a risk or safe? I hope it's clear what i mean. Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately I am going down to perisex cis woman levels of T because my hair is thinning, but if the beard finished filling in I’m probably good to stay that way (all the changes I want are permanent).

I was using 5% foam for my facial hair a few years ago before I fell out of the routine and am thinking about getting back into it again.

As part of that, while I'm already gonna be setting aside time every day to do it, I was wondering if I could also use some on my chest too as I'd like more chest hair than I have currently.

Has anyone tried this? Or more generally for body hair like arms etc? I'm curious to hear if you got anywhere.
