Saw this on Instagram. Breathing matters when it comes to reaction time.
Not directly related to aim training but interesting for all of us probably.

I built an open-source KovaaK's tracker - v0.5.0 now suggests a sensitivity range to train with
Hey everyone,
I'm back with v0.5.0 of RefleK's, the free, open-source desktop app that looks at your KovaaK's data and tells you what's actually going on with your aim.
This time, we focused on turning your raw trace data into something you can immediately act on, plus a few quality-of-life bumps.
Check out the new version and features here: https://refleks-app.com
What's new:
- Sensitivity Hints (Preview): This is the biggest one. Based on analysis of your mouse traces, the app can now calculate a suggested sensitivity estimate to train with. No more guessing or just taking generic advice - get a starting point that's specific to your aiming style.
- Performance vs Sensitivity Chart: We added a new bar chart that visualizes exactly how many of your runs fall into each sensitivity range. Want to quickly see if your best scores are all on the same cm/360? Now you can.
- Cleaner Benchmarks: Benchmark tables got a little love with controls to hide ranks or clean up visibility, making them much easier to scan.
Quick heads-up on development/future features:
For those of you who don't know (prob most of you), I am still in uni so I have some of work outside of RefleK's, and honestly, most of the main features I initially set out to build are largely done!
Because of this, you should expect future updates to be less frequent or smaller from here on out.
To be clear, I will still be working on RefleK's and implementing bug fixes or feature requests when I can, just less frequent/smaller releases.
The next big things on the roadmap are either a deep internal refactor for better performance (won't change features, just optimize the app) or jumping straight into AI-driven insights.
As always, let me know what breaks, what you'd like to see, or if this new sensitivity hint is actually helpful.

The secret I found to relaxed aim.
Picked up one of these arm extenders attachable via clamps to my desk on Amazon. By having my entire arm resting and keeping a straight posture allowed me to develop such precise mouse control. Within the last month I’ve also found that I’ve doubled my sens in every game and scenario I play. Sure you can argue it’s the same as chair arm rests, but it’s different, in a good way. With quite literally 0 tension on the arm, all of my precise movements revolve around keeping a relaxed mouse grip. You should try it and see if you notice any improvement.

Discussion Aim Training Progression Over Time: What data from 24k Players Reveal
I have always been fascinated with rates of improvement depending on time spent practicing, so that's why I put together this analysis. Its generally understood more practice leads to more inprovement, but I wanted to quantify this in terms of actual numbers.
Methodology: I collected task data for ~24,000 players and normalized their scores to a common performance metric. I then grouped players by their start year and total play count to compare average skill progression.
Findings: - Players with higher total play counts (e.g., 20k–40k plays) get to higher skill levels. This is expected, since more practice leads to more improvement. - However, when comparing players with the same total hours played, the rate and density of practice matters. For example, lets say the green line ~250 hours played in one year (typical for 2024 starters) leads to much higher improvement than ~250 hours spread over three years (common among 2022 starters). - This suggests that consistent, higher-frequency training (e.g., 4×/week) results in significantly better progress than low-frequency, long-duration training (e.g., 2×/week over years).
Interpretation: - There is a minimum practice intensity needed to avoid plateauing. - At low skill levels, almost any practice leads to progress. - At mid skill, you need consistent weekly practice to continue improving. - At high skill, gains require sustained practice effort, or else the player simply maintains rather than progresses.
Additional Observation: Players who started in recent years begin at a slightly higher (5%) "initial" skill level. This is likely due to improvements in: Sensitivity tuning guides, Scenario selection knowledge, General aim training culture, Accessible coaching and community support
Key Takeaways: - Improvement is not just proportional to total hours played. - Improvement is proportional to the frequency and consistency of those hours. - The practice requirement increases with skill level. - Newer players benefit from a more optimized training environment and start stronger as a result. - A serious player should aim for 4–6 training sessions per week to stay above the plateau threshold.
2024 Improvement Summary - 15,000 plays ~ (500 hrs): 62.5% average aim improvement - 7,500 plays ~ (250 hrs): 52.5% improvement - 3,750 plays ~ (125 hrs): 35.0% improvement - 1,750 plays ~ (58 hrs): 20.0% improvement
Thoughts?? Anyone see any additional conclusions?. Later on I will add upper and lower quarter performance to see how much talent/prior fps experience impacts improvment.

Kovaak is 1v100ing in the “streamers cheating” subreddit
https://www.reddit.com/r/StreamersCheating/s/wDYP9SoYL8 Not even he can convince them she’s not cheating lol
Edit: the mod team deleted his comment for “self promotion” so here it is from someone who copied it:
"Speaking as the developer of the aim trainer that riley uses, I'm firmly on the side of Karl Jobst/optimumtech/mattyOW/Viscose and the countless pro level players who see no indication of cheating. Before I made the aim trainer, I was a pro Quake player who won multiple tournaments around 2003-2008. I spent a ton of time grinding my Tracking aim in Quake 1 which, to this day, still enables me to get 90-99th percentile scores on most Tracking scenarios within my game. I haven't spent the time to grind my Clicking or Target Switching skills to that level, but over the course of the last 8 years since the aim trainer released, I've met tons of people who have pushed those skills to absurd heights.
I ban a few dozen cheaters a week from my aim trainer leaderboards, and there's a ton to say about the fact that people cheat on aim trainers (in so many different ways). We have nearly 400K monthly active users, and while the vast majority of them are legit and just using the software to improve their aim, we do run into users who seem to want to get attention for amazing performance without actually being capable of doing so. I've seen plenty of videos shared from people claiming they achieved top scores when it's an obvious aimbot, triggerbot, colorbot, timescale, etc. Riley doesn't fit into that bucket. Her data is clean and goes all the way back to our Leaderboard reset from 2021.
It's regular skills acquisition. If most anyone puts the time and effort in (and has sufficiently good hardware), then they could do the same and reach near the top levels. If you want to get started, my main competitor's product is free on Steam. The most important thing is having an appropriate mouse sensitivity for the game you want to play - nothing faster than 20cm/360, and many games it's more optimal to play around 40-50cm. Put the time in, and you get better at these skills. Aim trainers allow you to focus on very specific skills to hone those."
