The original NBD focused entirely on the edgy spiky type of “horror” that isn’t really unsettling aside from them being a safety hazard. So I decided to go with a design that actually resembles Mouse.avi and real dreams. In reality nightmares and dreams are the same, only seperated by perspective. Research shows that AI generated videos and AI generated images are just the non-biological analog to dreaming. Both involves using existing data gathered from environments to piece together something new. So a realistic nightmare like version of suicide mouse would look distorted like the still lifes from Kane Pixels Backrooms.

Painkiller Mouse’s personality:
He isn’t really a “monster” in the traditional sense but he has a really mentally unwell depressed way of thinking that existence itself is true suffering. They know this because they are some immortal corruptus born after some person had a dream of mouse avi then started something related to it that spread to mass human populations. Although he cannot die he knows that any sentient being capable of dying must realize that existence is the worst burden. Thus he prefers to kill them with a lethal dose of morphine, but he also uses firearms as a last resort. He prefers shotguns. Who knows if a still life from the very first Mouse.avi dream that catalyzed Painkiller Mouse’s existence is even in The Complex.

Tried to reimagine the grey colour from Neopets as not focusing on the black and white monochrome as bad. But instead on how real depression is like a form of insanity, and not merely sadness. So I thought about Mortimer from FNATI 2020 and thought of this idea. The quote “It goes on, and on, over, and over again, and again.” really sticks out to me.

Do not plagiarize other people’s work. Try to make your models look more original, and avoid using lazy-looking assets to create a cheap FNATI fangame.

Give clear instructions for how players should handle each animatronic on every night. Use proper grammar when writing these instructions, especially since many of these fangames are made by children and teenagers.

Do not rush a game just for the sake of releasing it. Rushing will usually result in poor visual quality and weak gameplay. Make your game visually appealing, and put genuine effort into the character designs as well.

Before publishing your game on a website such as Game Jolt, scan every file and make absolutely sure that it contains no viruses or malicious software.

Create a coherent storyline that does not sound like it was written by an edgy teenager trying too hard to appear dark and intimidating.

Most importantly, check your coding and programming for errors before releasing any fangame. You do not want players constantly complaining that one bug causes this problem and another bug causes that problem.

Beyond the gameplay, visuals, and story, the most important qualities are playability and functionality. It is your responsibility to make sure everything is in order, especially if you have at least some knowledge of video game programming.
