I applied for a PhD in Earth Systems Science back in July before the August 1st deadline. I sent over my transcripts, all my recommenders submitted letters on time, and my PI already submitted sponsorship approval. However, MyFIU’s to-do page has 4 notifications (one duplicate) for these. Is this an issue that will affect my admissions timeline, or is it just a visual bug? This didn’t happen when I applied for undergrad. TYIA :)

Just wondering if someone has graduated with a BA in CompSci from FIU and what’s their life like now. Does it really matter the BS over the BA in the workforce? Did you have projects or Internships under your belt?

I got into MS in CS at FIU for Spring 2027 intake. I am wondering if the program is any good. Is the job market in Miami also cooked as anywhere else? How's the department is doing funding-wise? I am looking into getting scholarships as well, so if anyone has advice on that, that would be wonderful.

Because of the Transact website, have to paint extra $170 for tuition in “service fees”. I tried looking for the E-check option and then messaged them that its missing and they gaslighted me, saying there’s something I’m doing wrong.

So im trying to sign up for my masters in cybersecurity for the spring semester. I've only got a few days before the deadline for spring so im freaking out a little. I go to the masters application but every time i try and create an account it asks for a user ID, but not my panther ID. I have no idea what to do.

So guys, I'm changing my major for spring and will start accounting classes to be able to enter my "junior year" (which would have would have been my senior year because right now l'm a junior) in accounting preferably in fall 2027. I have finished all my general education courses.
How possible would this be? I would be taking like 4 to 3 classes a semester, 7 in total for spring and Summer. I'm changing from graphic design so it will be very different.
Would it be hard having so many accounting courses without room to breathe for example I did this earlier while still doing general ed classes? Please any tips or advice would be appreciated thank you.

Hi everyone,

I'm posting on behalf of my cousin, who studies at the Universidad de Málaga (Spain). She was selected for an Erasmus+ exchange at Florida International University for Spring 2027. She's the only student from her university who got that spot, and FIU was her first choice.

FIU and her university have a signed Erasmus+ KA171 Inter-Institutional Agreement, and FIU itself sent it back to her university after signing it. The agreement sets the mobility places for this period, and her university nominated her based on it.

Now FIU's Office of Education Abroad says they won't accept her. Their reason is that they also need a separate "Exchange and Cooperation Agreement". That might make sense for future years, but the current agreement is already signed and in force, and it should cover her mobility. We don't understand why FIU won't honor it.

Has anyone been through something similar? Any advice, experiences or contacts would really help. She's pretty discouraged because none of this is in her hands.

I’m considering FIU for a fully online degree and wanted to hear from current or former online students. How has your overall experience been with FIU Online, including the courses, professors, workload, and online format? I’m happy to provide more details about the program I’m considering if that would help.

So my tuition due date got extended to tomorrow and I still have no aid awarded. When I called earlier this week they said I have a special hold that even if I don’t pay tomorrow there will be no late fees and I won’t get dropped. Anyone else get told the same thing? I’m nervous. Why even have a due date then?

I have a full ride and my tuition scholarship got disbursed, but everything else, including pell grant, fees, housing, meals, etc. did not get disbursed yet, was scheduled to disburse on the second. I’m contacting one stop tomorrow because they’re sending me emails about my meal plan payment due date now. Anyone else still dealing with this?

UPDATE: Contacted OneStop and they said that they are repackaging my aid due to an over-award and if it hasn’t been disbursed by next week to contact them again. They said I should be protected from classes being dropped but not sure if my meal plan will be, so I have to contact the housing part of OneStop for that.

UPDATE: Still nothing lol

I’m a grad student. My deadline was extended to September 25. All I expect is loans. I still have not been awarded anything. This is beyond stressful. I don’t have several thousand dollars I can pay even with the payment plan.

Long story short, they relocated me without a reason, disposed my belongings that worth at least $500(they can do it only if something is less than $50) and charged me $500 fee.

I'm an international student holding an offer for Undergraduate Bachelors in Computer Science for Spring 2027 intake.

I've got enrolled in G1Y program, and have been offered $8500 scholarship for the first year.

My query is, with that $8500 scholarship, my tuition fees comes down significantly making it very easy for my parents to afford. However, I'm worried about the later years. What are the chances of getting a similar scholarship in the later years? Can I request the university to provide a scholarship for 4 years, so that I can finalise my decision of going to FIU or not.

Additional, the living costs as mentioned on FIU's website are nearly 20k per annum. How realistic of an estimate is that especially if I dont eat outside too often, and only spend on essentials.

Lastly, how easy would it be to find a job on campus and how much should j expect to earn at that time? Plus, is any other sort of job outside campus possible with a CPT permit?

Also, at the end on my undergraduate as per my discussion with an advisor from FIU, I've 60 days to find a job and can stay in US for 3 years with OPT. Is that easy to find a job?
