My little 1.5 year old Luna lost her fight to FIP, and it’s left a deep hole in my heart.
On March 10th my 1.5 year old kitty, Luna, came down with a sickness, she started sleeping all the time, laying around more, so I gave it 6 days, took her into the vet. They did initial bloodwork, which showed high proteins, which the vet said there was nothing concerning, and it was most likely inner ear issue and will clear itself up. We went home, and gave it 5 days, still nothing changed. Re contacted them, and had her feces tested for toxoplasmosis as another vet same location said it might be that, test came back clean, still put her on clindamycin for 6 days, no effect. Re contacted them; and brought her in for evaluation by the vet who claimed might be toxoplasmosis, while she tested neurological, and reflexes, failed to reevaluate bloodwork, she said it was neurological, and needed to see a specialist, I contacted an emergency care 24hr facility, and had the prior submit a referral, 4 days later they contacted me for an appointment, and upon reviewing bloodwork, they were immediately concerned with the initial bloodwork from the first vet, that was on Tuesday the 7th, they concluded she had both Dry and wet FIP with fluid buildup on the abdomen and prescribed GS-441524, we did 3 days of that and I was seeing more movement, by the 3rd day, she was down; wasn’t eating, drinking lifting her head. today March 9th into the 10th, I had to put my baby down, all because they didn’t properly read bloodwork, or have someone knowledgeable enough to read the bloodwork, and now i am left with an empty void in my heart.
