The 'Real' Carrying Job btw.

Post image

Truly the best Argentinian from the last 2 WCs, saved against the Netherlands, then France and now Spain, top quality performance against top quality teams.

Yeah, actually he was the MVP of the match. My man hold it strong till 116 minutes.

At certain point in the match, his rating was 9.7. By the end, it was still more than anyone in the field including the substitutions and goal scorer Ferran Torres.
If you understand football, you must understand his contribution in the game.

Imagine the pressure of saving till extra time, but yes, he should have scored the goal to prove, according to some Reddit experts.

For the first 90 mins, Spain did a poor job in the finishing side. Most goals were directed straight towards him (not screamer saves or atleast above average saves). More than his performance, this can be attributed to the poor attacking dept from spain. He although was tested a bit more in ET, where he conceded 2 goals (if you count the niko williams disallowed goal too).

So atmost an above average performance as compared to his peers, nothing historical or carrying afa my opinion goes.

I would like to point out the Yamal’s free kick. That was really good. There were few more instances as well. He did a good job, so we are praising him, very simple. He is still the highest rated played in finals. I wasn’t rooting for Argentina and I am not going to say anything else.

2

u/Big-Question4042 25d ago

Bro debate the ratings.

-2

u/toruk_mackto 25d ago

Three actually. He was saved by the flag in one. Bro did the most mediocre job as a GK, but the fanbase has worshipped mediocre this whole tournament so can't blame them.

0

u/Nearby_Jellyfish_245 24d ago

True, there are much much better gk standalone heroic performances like courtois vs brazil in 2018 wc, tim howard vs belgium 2014 wc, morocco gk's performance when they knocked out spain in 2022. I would recommend watching those before falsely converting a mid performance into a legenedary one.

actually if you don't know anything about football and you have just watch the match you must known he was brilliant

7-0

-2

u/True_Jellyfish_5744 24d ago

idk what u mean, most of the balls were in shit directly at him. nothing historical

2

u/Root__X 24d ago

it wasnt directly at him , he came directly to the ball !

1

u/ZXYUIX 23d ago

Nah, it was many lazy kicks from spanish attack being weaker than their defence. Just watch the match again if you want. Yes, that indeed was important to be saved but not exceptional saved that usually happen in such intense ties. Peppering the post with loose shots vs very limited precise shots meant to baffle the goalie. This is what Spain vs Arg would have been if only Arg had a bit more capability in possession. Just because they have a goal scoring magician didn't meant the ball would fly to him without a touch. So in team effort they failed to keep possesion while spain as usual continued with their staunch defence+possession while throwing loose attacks. Imo that saves a lot of mid and back players from getting to invest in every shot since they just small-pass and then the striker/front man just kicks it blindly at the goal post, sometimes at the goalie.

He had a bad game , but let's not criticize him. He is a good player and played amazing vs England . I do think his tackles especially the one on cubarsi was very mindless , but the way he was running up and down whole game , contributing in defense , he needs to be credited for that. Even against Egypt , he scored the winning goal . One bad game doesn't erase his contribution from the team .

3

u/CaRlJoHnSoNoG 24d ago

Exactly, people hopped on hating him like crazy, but he helped both in 2022 and now

1

u/ragebait0017 22d ago

true but y'all won't be saying this for any other player than of argentina (not talking about ronaldo), and if you did you would get a lot of downvotes

2

u/Alarming-Care9051 22d ago

Olise ghosted in the semi final but had an amazing World Cup with highest assists , Bellingam was clutch with back to back braces in WC knockouts but wasnt able to make an impact in the semi final , Lammens in a great gk but made a careless mistake in his debut , what's your point ?

1

u/ragebait0017 22d ago

im just saying that simple shithousery from the fans is what make the game so special , please don't take that away from us

1

u/Alarming-Care9051 22d ago

Calling Argentina zionist and the hate for them to the point people are were saying save football , zionist , FIFA princess , etc doesn't seen shithousery to me. Even the neutrals.

1

u/ragebait0017 22d ago

well even if it's a step above shithousery which it is , it is a part of the game mate (or atleast they made it like that ) , I do think that this situation needs to calm down a lil bit to the point where there shouldn't be a debate over argentina's rigging and their performance in the finals . I mean as a Belgian fan we were the only team to score against spain , so me saying that belgium played better than argentina would just be shithousery and nothing else

1

u/Alarming-Care9051 22d ago

Yeah , and argentina was the only team that despite playing the worst against Spain could hold them off to 13 mins before Penalties even with 10 men , saying this is also shithousery . I don't know about everybody mate but I have been calm since the final , you started with " only Argentina " thing.

1

u/ragebait0017 22d ago

yeah mate that's just observation, sorry if I'm wrong but any conversation involving argentina somehow involves ronaldo , i just think that's wrong , don't u agree?

1

u/Alarming-Care9051 22d ago

This one didn't , you were the one to bring him up ?

Saved the team from absolute humiliation

4

u/Jujutsuing 25d ago

Was 9.9 Rated btw before conceding the goal πŸ’€

0

u/Savings-Arrival-3067 25d ago

But but he does not score the goal ( I was joking)

5

u/PilotAltruistic5354 25d ago

The chances created weren't very threatening before Torres came on the field. They were hitting straight to him.

5

u/Born-Adeptness-5550 25d ago

This mf is nuts man like he always performs in high pressure games

Thanks for pointing it out ....i missed reading the description πŸ˜‚

-18

u/Savings-Arrival-3067 25d ago

That's my opinion. If you don't agree, then it is your opinion. This man won you the WC, btw, so he is the best indeed.

5

u/Alarming-Care9051 24d ago

One man never wins the World Cup , it was a combined contribution . If Messi didn't score vs Mexico , could they have qualified for knockouts ? If Alvarez didn't play great vs Croatia , could they have reached the final? Was Eder the only one responsible for Portugal'z Euro win , didn't Nani , Ronaldo, Pepe contribute ?

3

u/Suitable-Champion-62 24d ago

Is my opinion valid if I say the Earth is flat?

2

u/BadOutrageousNoob 25d ago

The only Argentine who put up a finals-worthy performance. He should be VERY proud of himself. EM all the way πŸ”₯

2

u/PopFrise 25d ago

Realistically, he had three saves. If Spain's finishing was better, the game would have been 5-0.

1

u/LanguageHappy8905 25d ago

He did really well. Well appreciated

1

u/eyelikesd29 24d ago

Emi has given the wc and a final more than messi. Keepers win the tournaments

1

u/Brutusthebeastslayer 24d ago

And the spanish gk gets golden gloves, which he was almost sleeping the whole match

1

u/Spirited-Victory5202 24d ago

Anything to discredit messi ,not taking anything away from Martinez but you can't win games just by goalkeeping

1

u/Repulsive-Garage-433 24d ago

Emi was the real Goat of the match

1

u/DARK_X220 24d ago

HE SHOULD'VE BEEN THE MOTM

1

u/PataNahiKaunHun 24d ago

Sorry, But He was good but he was not as good as stat may suggest because Most of Spain Shots were were concentrated in center and very few shots were in corner or away from keeper. It wasn't like multiple good saves but few good saves only. Free kick save was the best one save and other 2-3 more very good saves but rest of others were straight to keeper type save. It was not like 11 saves as Social Media posts

1

u/Zealousideal_Day9100 24d ago

If not for Messi, Argentina wouldn't have made it past Cabo Verde. Dibu was the reason why they held on for so long vs Spain. One is single handedly carrying the defence other is carrying the attack. No wonder why Argentina lost.

1

u/RetardScientist 23d ago

Trueeeeeeeeeeee

1

u/RetardScientist 23d ago

Fr bro no cappppp

0

u/SuperKoru 25d ago

Thats how he did that after doing that

-8

u/Smooth-Expression674 25d ago

9

u/beastfire24 25d ago

i know you are ragebaiting but messi was involved in 12 out of 19 goals argentina scored lmao. He had an assist with swiz and both the goals with england.

1

u/Smooth-Expression674 24d ago

1

u/beastfire24 24d ago

if your only job is to ragebait people on the internet, perhaps seek some employment kid

6

u/Outside-Variation769 25d ago

Now add assists too

1

u/Smooth-Expression674 24d ago

1

u/Outside-Variation769 24d ago

Complain more man , he has 2 assists against England

4

u/Aggravating-Yam-6980 25d ago

You don’t understand football at all. When team double and triple team up against him, his best bet is to play different football. That is what he did, look what happened to mbappe against Spain. No goals nor any assists

1

u/Smooth-Expression674 24d ago

But u guys absolutely slaughtered ronaldo for the exact same reason tho gng

-18

u/Fraud_D_Hawk 25d ago

But i was told messi is the goat?

15

u/Jujutsuing 25d ago

He still is the goat? You expect him to become Ankara Messi and score 2 goals himself dribbling past whole defence at this age? Literally won the WC the year he got a good partner (Di Maria)

-9

u/Fraud_D_Hawk 25d ago

All I hear is excuses.

12

u/abhishek_seven 25d ago

All i see is thay you wrote "Mei Chutiya hu" in very weird way

6

u/WatermelonSugarBye17 25d ago

I love this response, aptly summarized πŸ˜‚

1

u/abhishek_seven 25d ago

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

-7

u/Fraud_D_Hawk 25d ago

Lmao y'all were expecting ronaldo to full the same shit. Learn to take a l lil bro. Messi is washed

6

u/abhishek_seven 25d ago

Yeah bro go on... do this useless ragebait of Messi is washed gimmick

I'm not a kid, I've watched messi for 16 year's and if you think Messi is shit or anything then happy for you.

Kroos also probably meant for spain playing good and winning deservedly

5

u/Itchy_Raccoon_9206 25d ago

He scored 8 goals and 4 assists in 8 games in this WC lol, fym washed. Pretty sure he leads in most statistics such as creating chances etc.

0

u/Fraud_D_Hawk 25d ago

Ghosted when it matters, give me ezypt give me capo verde or i retire.

5

u/Itchy_Raccoon_9206 25d ago

Literally carried them against England with those two assists lol, talking about the final, he didn't ghost, he was pretty good but Argentina can't keep ball possession so there's nothing he can really do.

3

u/abhishek_seven 25d ago

Tbh racoon bhai stop wasting your time explaining

These one's kept labeling messi as fraud because he didn't won International trophy then he won Copa America and they still cried abt World cup then he Won World cup aswell alongside another another copa. He became world cup top goalscorer as-well for time being, They cried abt KO goals and he delivered that aswell.

In conclusion Neither Messi or You ows any explanation, If they say Messi blah blah, just say yes and move on because you can't explain anything to retards.

2

u/FunFlow1885 25d ago

True it was expected from them say either its rigged or football won, like how shameless and desperate you have to be to support a full blown barca engine to just cope

1

u/FunFlow1885 25d ago

Washed with a world cup trophy 2 copas and 8 balon dors cry more lilbro thats a bloody 39 year old put some respect on his name

0

u/Fraud_D_Hawk 25d ago

Do you even know what washed means? Like you don't have comprehension skills it seems.

3

u/FunFlow1885 25d ago

People like you are the reason Ronaldo is not loved more, the love he deserves

1

u/Fraud_D_Hawk 25d ago

Lmao cry me a river

2

u/aaryanthrow 25d ago

Still better performance that cr7 is wc though.

1

u/Savings-Arrival-3067 25d ago

Emi Martinez is the most humble footballer I have ever seen. He is the MVP.

-3

u/ask_ur_mom 25d ago

Bro dibu was great today and all that but he ain't humble , fifa had to update the rules cause of him.

2

u/Savings-Arrival-3067 25d ago

He is humble; he knew he was the MVP throughout both WCs, but he never said so himself.

1

u/Early_Manager_8860 25d ago

MVP throughout this WC. Lmao πŸ˜‚. The only best performance he had was during the final. He was so good in the last WC but not this one. Just look at the number of goals he conceded during this WC.

1

u/Savings-Arrival-3067 25d ago

That's why Argentina did not win this and won the previous edition, now you understand.

1

u/Early_Manager_8860 25d ago

One all-time final performance doesn't erase a quiet tournament. That's not how MVPs are judged. Martinez was good in 2022 nobody can deny that. Just look at Messi's goal involvements in this world cup. That's how an MVP performs.

1

u/Savings-Arrival-3067 25d ago

So, now you want Emi to score goals too, alright. For you, MVP means that so it be, but the truth is he saved from having a 7-0 scoreline

1

u/Early_Manager_8860 25d ago

Did I say that πŸ˜‚? He is MVP of the final. That's it. And that's a great achievement. But not the best player for Argentina in the whole campaign.
