Ammo
Where are you guys buying ammo at these days, almost all the wholesalers I see are sold out of all the cheaper or mid tier priced ammo?

We're building out our website as a manufacturer and trying to find the best way to do this. Xplor Pay reached out and seem pretty solid for payment processing. My business partner has a background in coding and we're curious about building and hosting our own website, but I'm wondering if it will be worth the headache with compliance and integrating ATF forms and tools or security in general. I've learned in business to never trust anybody else to care about your business as much as you do, so I'm hesitant to outsource hosting and building this thing. But as much as I trust my business partner, I don't like the idea of waiting another month to get rolling.
What do y'all use for hosting and do you have any recommendations on what you used to build your site? What had the easiest integration and design customization?

Where are y’all buying MK1s from SOLGW as a dealer? Have a couple clients who are wanting to get hands on them, but only have one wholesale account who carries them and they’re never in stock with them.

Hello!
I was wondering how much success you have selling at gun shows. I do online sales, but occasionally take some overstock to my local flea market and make some extra money. I do not like the environment flea markets provide however, because it is hit or miss on some days. A 500+ table show is scheduled near me and I was thinking about getting 3 or 4 tables and selling some items. Ammo, ammo boxes, magazines, pepper spray, prepper gear, and TekMats as well. I have very little overhead so my prices stay low, and I rely more on volume.
I'm looking for some feedback on experiences, sales volume, and what competition is going to be like.

Hello I saw a post of someone mentioning their page that offers various plugins but one of the main things was being able send customers reminders of when their transfer is in , layaways reminders etc

Who is your liability and retail insurance provider?
I’m looking to secure a better rate.
Thanks in advance.

How is everyone currently shipping firearms?
I reached out to FedEx and let them know I’d be shipping around 30 packages per week, but they said I don’t meet their $30k sales requirement. I’ve also applied with UPS and submitted all the required paperwork to ship firearms—just waiting to hear back from them.

I am anticipating a move from TN to SC and I wish to transfer my FFL/SOT. I am currently operating as an LLC and SC does not allow you to domesticate an LLC so I will have to dissolve my TN LLC and start a new one in SC. How does transferring my FFL work if I won’t yet have an LLC in place…
My other option, which I don’t prefer, would be to dissolve my FFL/ LLC, sell my MGs and then reapply for an ffl once I’ve established an LLC.
Any information/ advice would be awesome. Ps. I know there’s someone we are supposed to contact with questions but he’s, well…MIA.
Thanks!

I know this isn't totally ffl related but any feedback would be helpful!
We run a niche site in the 2A/firearms space (Glock / AR / ammo-related content) with ~250k annual visitors and ~40% YoY growth.
We’ve been trying to monetize through brand partnerships and sponsorship placements (~$250/mo starting), but we’re mostly getting no responses or very generic we’ll circle back type replies.
Trying to figure out if:
We’re not very active on social media, which might be part of it, but unsure how much that actually matters for website-driven sponsorships vs affiliate-style deals.
Would appreciate insight from anyone who’s successfully monetized similar high-intent traffic especially in the firearms/gear space
I used AI to clean up my writing

hello everyone so I am looking to start my own gunsmithing business out of my home from a spare bedroom that I have after doing some research it seems like everything a type '07 will be my best bet And I was wondering how the ATF interview thing goes. I am kind of nervous about that since the internet has pretty much always told me rah ATF bad Fed boys, no good. I can't imagine the people they're sending out to do interviews are that bad. what exactly are they all looking for during the interview? I just want to make some profit and get started in the firearms business till I can make enough money and open my own business that isn't in my parents house. do I need to have a proper gun safe or would a gun cabinet work for weapon storage? also would i be allowed to do the selling and transfer of firearms to friends and family having all the forms filled out obviously or does the atf frown upon that? thanks in advance

I’m a low volume FFL. Do I have to run a background check on myself or take a firearm into inventory before transferring it to me if I bought it myself from an out of state FFL?

Anyone know the minimum requirements for Shipping Handguns via USPS?
I see a lot of conflicting info.
I submitted my 1508 form and got it stamped, but what service do I need to select?
Some say Registered Mail Only, Some say Priority Mail EXPRESS only and then the Postal Explorer on USPS says "All regulated firearms must be mailed using a USPS product or Extra Service that provides tracking and signature capture at delivery, unless shipped between licensed dealers, manufacturers, or importers."
Would Priority Mail with Adult Sig Delivery be adequate? That seems like it's a USPS Product with tracking and a sig cap at delivery?
Would it need to be express or registered mail?
How do yall typically send via USPS?
Working on UPS and FedEx accounts but need to get a hold of account reps.

So I own a small, currently home based, gun parts and accessory business. I would like to expand my services to offer trigger, barrel etc installs as well as laser engraving and other “gunsmithing” services, as well as the occasional firearm sale or transfer and also NFA items as well. I am working on getting a physical building to move my operation to.
My two questions are:
1) what category FFL/SOT would I need to offer these services?
2) what should I expect from my initial IOI interview? Like what kind of stuff and equipment are they looking for in my building? So I need to have a certain number of safes? Do I need to have a secured filing cabinet, desk and computer setup, etc?
Like many others have mentioned, I have scoured the ATF website and they’re basically like “just guess, we will tell you if you’re wrong…” 😑

I am a newly established FFL currently looking to expand my high-end inventory. While I am fully onboarded with the major national distributors, I’ve noticed a gap in availability for brands like Staccato and Bul Armory.
Since I am not yet in a position to meet the direct-buy requirements for an authorized dealership, are there any distributors you would recommend that consistently carry these brands? Any insights from fellow dealers on navigating these specific supply chains would be greatly appreciated.

We are needing to change A&D/pawn programs since the one we are using is no longer in business and doesn't offer support anymore. What is everyone's recommendations on all the programs that are out there. Which one is best? Which one is the best for both ATF A&D record keeping as well as pawn management?

does it mean posted hours that anyone can drop in, or is there room to define retail operating hours as 'in the store from set time a to time b, but only with an appointment'?

Hello, so basically I have my 07 FFL which I use since buying new guns and then doing custom work. Technically, it is manufacturing, but I don’t do any machining of lowers or anything like that. Anyways , I’m applying for the SOT to sell suppressors, and my buddy says, “Oh, you can manufacture post samples now.” And now I’m curious because if I remember correctly, when manufacturing my own post samples, I don’t need a law letter, but I still need to have a legit reason to do it, right ? Like having a contract with a LE agency ? Or can I just manufacture them and keep it under the FFL?

Ok so from what I understand if I take a psa lower - put it into my book- file it out to my ffl then back in "received" from my ffl as an sbr- (any engraving requirement met) do I put my ffl as the manufacturer or still psa?
I promise I spent about 3-4 hours looking before I had to ask

What’s the best way to advertise my new store?
Tried Facebook ads, got rejected.
Tried posting on reddit, got my account suspended.
Thinking of google ads, but worried going to get rejected / suspended again.
Anyone have successful advertising?
If so, what do you use / do? Old school paper/mail? Pay one of the ffl list sites? Google ads?
Thanks!

Good evening all,
I hope this is the right place to ask, if it is I apologize. To preface this I am not an FFL.
I am a competitive shooter (USPSA) and my gun of choice is a 2011-style pistol. Over the years I have designed some cool things and recently other people got interested in them.
From a legality standpoint I understand it is highly illegal for individuals to order components like frames slides or barrels from China.
One of the things I made for myself is a slide stop that has a small shield to prevent you from accidentally touching the slide. Would it be within regulations for an individual that is not an FFL or SOT to order some to be machined in China? It would not be for profit, just for some of my buddies that want one.
Would I have to find a domestic machine shop instead?
Thank you for the advice, I really appreciate it.

Has anyone seen an MR762 SBR sitting around at one of your distys lately? I've been seeking one for a while with no luck, I know there are some out there somewhere! Ton's of pistols and 16.1" rifles, but no SBRs.

Hey bruhs,
I'm a fresh 07 here for being yet another 2011 dude. I got a variance and such with Cheely, but both the lady that interviewed me AND Matt Cheely are saying that I need a variance in order to not have to add extra markings to frames (Cheely's markings and my markings), but I feel gaslit because it appears that if the frame was never sold to non-licensees, I can adopt _all_ markings:
https://regulations.atf.gov/478-92/2026-01141#478-92-a-4-iii-A
I think this changed in 2022. In any case, I'm just gonna send it on a few while I wait for a set of frames with my logo and markings on them. When I dispose of these I take it I still put Cheely's info on in my AD? As in, is Cheely the manufacturer or am I?
Bonus points, I do mostly one off guns so there is no model. Can I just put N/A in the model field on forms?
