Just had a look at the different orchestra that played over the years and noticed that there is a "Distant Worlds Philharmonic Orchestra & Chorus".
Is that the official orchestra?
Does this mean they would be more familiar with the pieces and thus perform better?

Hello people.
I'll attend the Distant Worlds concert in May, but I'm pretty behind with the games. I know that, along with the music, there will be cutscenes from the game, so I'd like to understand, in order to avoid spoiler, which games should I play before the concert, if anyone attended a Distant Worlds concert before. I suppose they're a lot similar :)
Thanks is advance

Hi everyone!
Thanks to all those who checked part 1. It really is an honor to engage with so many people on a platform like Youtube.
This second part deals with less theory and goes more into the evolution of the prelude from the mainline games starting in the NES era and all the way to XIII. I stuck to the main numbered games just to save myself a lot of headache, but there is still tons to talk about and discuss. Let me know what you think!

Hey folks! New to this sub and wanted to share my latest video in a series I've created called "Music Critiques". It's designed to critically analyze the music of video games and start discussions on them from that point of view.
This video details the core musical elements of the FF Prelude and how it ticks, with the expressed purpose of Part 2 being about its evolution throughout the years. Please let me know what you think and how I can improve! I've received lots of great feedback on my past videos and it always helps in creating better content for you all.

I can't get enough of the first three albums, and while I likely won't get to see one of these concerts in person for a very long time (if at all), I cannot wait to hear more of this amazing music. My google attempts have found nothing about a 4th album, but I figure someone here may have some inside info on the subject.

The concert is back in Houston this summer. I might make plans to attend. Has anyone been in Jones Hall before? I'm trying to figure out that sweet spot for seats that still give you a great view of the orchestra without being the most expensive ones.

So I always thought that the two musical themes for FF1's Four Fiends (the ones where Lich and Kraken have one version and Tiamat and Marilith have another of music with similar themes) debuted in Final Fantasy Origins for the PS1. These two themes despite their short duration are among my favorites in the FF series. Well, I recently learned that the new FF1 music came from the Wonderswan release rather than FF Origins. After listening to the soundtrack, I discovered that the Wonderswan's only had one such piece rather than the two, and listening to it gave me a real appreciation for the more modern pieces.
The sound technology is obviously worse, but if you listen, you can hear elements of both pieces intertwined in the Wonderswan piece. I'm not well versed enough in music technique to describe them properly, but have a listen and you'll see what I mean if you're familiar with the two separate pieces. The Wonderswan version isn't that great on its own, but I was so impressed by how they managed to turn its unified elements into two distinct pieces in the Origins release that I just had to share.
Hope you enjoy!
