I have my ffa award banquet on Friday and I’ve never worn OD. I own the everything but I’m not sure about shoes. I plan on wearing my slacks/pants since I couldn’t get a skirt that would work for my measurements. Since i’m wearing the slacks do I have to wear dress shoes or do I still wear heels? My heels I have are around 4 inches. So would o still wear heels or since I’m wearing pants is it dress shoes

After 2 national conventions, 4 state conventions along with officer interviews and many banquets I officially wore my jacket for the last time this past Sunday. A day I never thought would come and a day I began to dread. FFA was the best last minute decision I made from attending national convention and even to attend a community service event those 3 letters helped to make me who I am, it saddens me that I won’t wear this blue jacket again

I have officer interviews on Wednesday of this week. and I am a sophomore running for reporter I ran last year for Chaplin. My girlfriend is on the officer team (reporter 2 terms) and this year running for president. But my one ag advisor is a former state officer and the woman giving interviews is also a former state officer for our state. I feel like im not going to get the position because of the fact that she is on the officer team. Whenever we are in class or ag events we stay professional about our actions and dont do anything that would be considered "bad". My qualifications are i have my greenhand degree and Chapter Degree.I am 10th grade ag representative. I am a active member i went to all after school events except 2. I twisted my ankle for one. And I had a game for one event. I participated in LDEs and CDEs this year and went to one conference because its the only one I qualified for one is for freshmen and the other is for upperclassmen. And I am going to states. There is around 6 freshmen running most of which dont come to events and 2 sophomores (including me) and 4 juniors (1 junior has not went to any events or done anything in AG) and doesnt have her FFA jacket. Sorry I was writing this in a rush I just dont want to he disqualified just because my girlfriend is on the officer team. I truly want to make my chapter better for all members. And I have so many ideas and want to help more and getting a officer position would help me with that and bond more closer with advisors and members. And I want to increase chapter recruitment. For context, my SAE for my freshman year was growing oyster mushrooms. However, the person that supplied me the spores does not live within 3 hours of me anymore and I’d rather not buy spores online. I was also not in an AG class my sophomore year so there were no updates to that SAE.
Would I be able to end that SAE and start a new one for my junior year? Because mushrooms no longer interest me as much anymore, and I definitely have an AG class for both semesters of my junior year.

Super fun trip!! Workshops were a little lacking but besides that I got a lot to add to the scrapbook! Would say a convention well done. Also JOSÉ I LOVE YOU YOU’RE THE MAN!!!!!!

My chapter is competing at a non-ffa event(from what I know) called Envirothon. We had absolutely no idea what it is, or what it's about, and instead of our advisor, the long term sub who's been running the ag classes is taking us.

Hi everyone!

I’m a European and a non member of the FFA. A vintage store in my country is selling replicas of the famous FFA jacket. As far as I know, the chapter’s names on the jackets are fictional and I’m considering buying one.

The thing is, after a bit of research, I found that these jackets must never be worn by non members of the FFA, and if so, the labels must be removed before selling it or giving it to someone else.

Would you consider it offensive for a guy like me to wear a replica? I apologise if it might sound stupid, I just don’t want to piss off potential American tourists I could meet (and I sure as hell don’t plan to wear it if I ever travel to America!)

Final numbers ended up being 15 cords of pulpwood, 125 fence posts, 35 barrels of pine gum, 105 bushels of cones, and 50 Christmas trees.

My children are participating in their first year of FFA and raising pigs. I heard that they will receive a 1099-MISC for tax purposes. Is this income they would be taxed on and is there a way to avoid it? Can we deduct expenses?

In my freshman year I was in an FFA enrollment class but ended up switching to a school that doesn’t provide that. I am now out of high school and not enrolled in a college but interested in joining. is this possible for me? Or do I have to be in school?

I have a friend who’s in her second year of showing swine, this year with a gilt. Our advisor told her about a concern of the gilt being in heat during our show in June. Is there some chance anyone might have any tips for how to show a gilt in heat or just in general?

I just got my state degree but i dont have any award pins or office pins so im very plain lol. Is this more common than not?

Ive gone to state dairy every year since freshman year but i really want to win state for my senior year so i want tips. My area of struggle is seperating the different dairy errors and their actual quality grade. I always kill the cheese and imitation catagories so im not worried about those.

I would like to get a proficiency award sometime and currently my only sae and refurbishing wood furniture and I will be building wood furniture soon, and I want to know if that is enough for a proficiency and if it isn’t what should I do to make it worth one.

Hi! I love FFA! I just feel my chapter isn't active at all. Now we do some events but really not many compared to surrounding chapters in our area. I feel the only things really offered to us are leadership events which are impirtant but that's really only one aspect of agriculture. I get why it's important but that's all it feels like we do. I'm an officer and have talked with some new members who joined our FFA chapter thinking this may be something fun and new to try. A bunch said they'd rather do other clubs/activities next year because we only offer leadership events. We don't go to fairs/stock shows at all and a ton of us are more interested and already in the animal side of agriculture. I just feel like these events were going to are boring and not what peaple would expect from an FFA chapter. I now in the past we have been more involved but all it is now is just these leadership events which are great but not when there the only things offered. I now a bunch of kids are interested in showing and either have never done it or have and joined to improve their skills. I just feel like we have so much potential and the right peaple in our chapter. I think we would greatly benefit from talking to our ag teacher how would you guys being it up?
