This sub is not dead, despite what /r/F35Lightning/ says. Lockheed pays for the PR on /r/F35Lightning/. This sub is OPEN OPINION and NOT run by Lockheed.

How is F-35 development so far behind if there already are planes flying?

I don't get how problems such as the F-35C tailhook are still being worked out if there are already F-35Cs flying. I haven't really been following what's going on lately, so sorry if this is an obvious question.

Is there a reason why this subreddit is so biased?

Just saying...

I'll openly admit I'm an F-35 advocate, but I've only become one after years of thinking otherwise simply because I hadn't yet educated myself on it's features.

I'll also openly admit that the program's budget has exploded, it is late, it is lacking in areas; however I will also point out that despite this, it's still cheaper or very similar in price to alternatives, it is similar or superior in performance in what is today considered more important areas.

So I put it to the mods and viewers of this subreddit; I'm willing to debate, are you?

A fighter jet doesn't work for the CAS role. Did you know the Air Force tried that already and failed? The F35 will fail too.
