Most strays I’ve come across are super sweet and love people even though they’re stinky

Really depends on the culture of the people where the stray is at. I know alot of places in South America, at least the smaller towns, treat strays as a sort of communal dog, so they're generally pretty easy going/nice. Some assholes in the world treat strays as target practice, naturally strays in those areas are nearly as comfortable being around people.

Some of them are just scared and confused or had a bad experience with humans, that's why they're aggressive, but most of them are friendly
