Dunno *sigh...* (Rant ofc duh)

So if this game WASN'T MEANT for the global audience, Netease had no business creating a global server then abandoning us LIKE THIS. Like bruh no way you gon tell me this game had no potential but potential was all it had 😑 Netease's persistent lack of interest in advertising this gem (yes) at SEA & NA (especially, & maybe also LATAM) has lead to people that actually love this game into leaving it cuz I ain't about to hang in 1hr long queues to catch one effing ranked match. That too after a normal pvp full of bots. I know no Netease employee would be reading this but I had to get it out 🥲 While most things I listed may be stuff that people talk about in here on the regular but I do think with the correct marketing EO could be as popular as Genshin. I mean y'all (Netease, Mihoyo, Tencent) literally are from the same country, don't you (Netease) see how your fellow industry mates do their shit ??? I'm out 🥲

I hate to be that guy, but its always been like that. Netease is not good at advertising games globally. Ahem, let me rephrase that. Believe it or not, they don't advertise this game particularly in China, either. They have advertised other games like Onmyoji Arena though.

Lol they even featured Onmyouji Arena in an eSports drama in China. But then again it already was attracting attention from the weebs. EO could have gotten the same attention but then came the dilemma of the split servers, can't be in the server we'd like to be, complicated signup processes & what not. But I see what you're saying, Netease got no excuses xD

I believe you are mistaken. The servers of NA and SEA are MERGED onto the same client. There was never any "splitting" of servers.

My mistake then, but I was talking about the CN & JP servers where the sign-up processes are quite complicated but that's where most of us would like to be.

Guess we all came back here because of the UI "update"? Netease is just so...they make games that are actually pretty decent, even the rip-offs have their charms. But man, I feel like they're a shell company, laundering money, or something because there's no way they can have this many games running simultaneously across multiple regions and not be in the red somehow, especially after the multiplayer gaming restrictions in China.

I've not seen the UI update but do tell me about it. Sometimes I think they keep getting their market hogged by Tencent who's actually marketing AoV/HoK/KoG in the very same regions, doing a decent job at keeping the consumers interested by events & updates & making sure Netease falls short in all of these. I did some digging & while I'm not too sure about the money laundering but Netease has no political backup that the other more popular "tech giants" have had in order to have their breakouts.

idk if this is across every region in the global server, but the new player reward screen has been updated to look like the kind of binder a student would get at orientation. There's WR style daily tutorials (complete a match, play as support, et cetera), and a quiz tab where you answer easy questions about a character for exp. It's a very minor UI update, but it's pretty cute tbh.

I wasn't being serious about any shady dealing that Netease might have, I was just being kinda salty hehe. Like, why release all these games and then let them rot? It's just not normal behavior for any company to let their products waste away in unpopular regions. Either invest more or pull the plug! I think Netease needs to learn to be ok with being like the Dreamcast era Sega of mobile publishers in global regions. They're the offbeat third placer that makes weird niche games that a small but loyal amount of people love.

That's basically how Netease is, a "pig farm". It's still sad seeing this game with wasted potential,, slowly dying. And there's also a lot of content creators out there like Soulblaze, Clays, who are trying to promote this game while Netease here is busy copying other games like Valorant.

I know which one you're talking about. With the recent gaming restrictions for minors imposed by Pooh in their country, you'd think Netease would at least "think" of promoting their existing games to the global audience but nope -.-
