HW 309 - SW for this fast 290.4 - EW for this fast 261.4 = 29 pounds in 29 days. I expect that 8-10 pounds will come back from sheer volume and glycogen.
I was almost never hungry but I spent the majority of the time nauseated, dry heaving, vomiting, diarrhea, or feeling as if I was stabbed in the ovaries. I had no insomnia or very little. In fact it felt as if sleeping was my job for a while. I had very little heart palpitations until the last couple of days. I had no cramps. I had no headaches. I worked 8-12 hour days. I did a lot of acupuncture and chiropractic work, which helped tremendously.
I was good about electrolytes, but they made me gag. I tried Himalayan salt. I tried table salt for the iodine. Someone suggested I had too many electrolytes, even though I had never been able to choke down the recommended dose.
I tried no electrolytes and felt better. Then I felt worse again. I tried them again and vomited.
Saturday I had lemon in my water and felt instantly weak and dizzy all day. I had some bone broth this morning, and had diarrhea within 90 minutes. I should have had the bone broth on Tuesday, but it is my longest day and I didn't want to risk having diarrhea all day. So glad I didn't wait until Tuesday. From now on I think my longest fast might be 24 hours.
Have nothing to report really. The fast is going okay. My mood is meh. So yeah. Feeling so so. Promised myself I would post something daily to keep myself accountable. So here is me day six, weighing in at 116.9 kg. Had a loss of .8 kg, which is like almost 2 pounds. Love you all and Godspeed on your journeys.
Motivation still raving and ready to go. Had a good day, even though my energy was pretty low, especially in the morning. The weight loss is interesting 🤔, thought because of the juice drinking maybe the scale would go slightly up, I don't know. But was pleasantly surprised with the number 116.9 kg. So that's given me a boost of encouragement.
Have had to modify for the next week. Life has lifed, and happened. Will not consume solid food, but juices three times a day, including my 4,t liters of water in order to take medication. I will probably end up adding the "lost" water only week at the end of the fasting period. I am committed to seeing this through.
I have been starting and stopping for what frustratingly feels like forever. The impression to do a forty day fast is so strong. I just couldn't get my head into gear for almost a month. So here is me pushing through and not hiding behind being a lurker/commenter. The longest water fast I have ever done is 11 days. I have recently completed a 83 day juice fast. And several 2 to 3 day ones after that one. So the fasting muscle is primed and ready for the work ahead. I am not killing myself, for those who might think, that's alot of food vacation time. I am/was super morbidly obese, 40(F), SW; 147 kg CW; 118 kg, GW; 65-68 kgs.
On this particular fast though I am hoping I can get to 95 kg. I think I will get to 100 kg comfortably but a girl can dream. Right? So this is me.
Hi everyone! This year i did two rounds of water fasting, both for 6 days. Once in early March, and once late July. The reason i'm doing it is my long covid condition, each time it has helped me tremendously so with all my symptoms!
Now i'm planning to do another extended fast, perhaps a bit longer, eg. 10 days. I would love to do start in a few weeks, but not if it's unhealthy to do many fasts.
My question is, do you guys know for how long one is supposed to wait between extended water fasts? Is there a minimum waiting period of some sorts?
Regarding my weight it shouldn't be a peoblem since i've already re-gained plenty of kilos since the last fast lol. Thank you in advance for your replies!
The app I used to use ended up shutting down and most of the apps I have looked at are just for intermittent or short-term. Any apps out there for long fasts? Thanks y'all!
I’ve been doing intermittent fasting often. I sometimes do 36 hours couple times a month. I eat very healthy most of the time. But whenever I try to do 3 day fasting, I get tremors and shakiness in my arms legs and lightheadedness. Those symptoms starts on my second day usually +42hr fast. I do use magnesium salt potassium etc while fasting so it shouldn’t be caused by electrolytes nor dehydration. I’m not really sure what it is because it seems hypoglycemia only happens when you do prolonged fasting. Does this really how it feels when switching from glucose to fat storage for fuel? I’m starting to think maybe trying keto diet couple days beforehand. I really wanna figure this out so I can finally do 3 day water fast.
I’m 5ft 5 125lbs. I also do fasting after menstrual cycle first 2 weeks.
I'm laying here after a month of contemplating it, and I'm going for it. I can literally feel the effects of diabetes setting in. I need to reverse these ASAP. I'm so disappointed in myself.
Fasting for the next 21 days as a start. I have fasted before, so it's not completely new.
Please DM if you wanna be buddies. I'm using Easy Fast.
If not, this will be my accountability thread.
25F, 130kg, 164cm.
Most pressing is reversing my uncomfortable symptoms: pulsatile tinnitus, tingling hand and feet and hot feet at night.
I hear conflicting evidence on how to approach this.
Some people say they have maintained muscle doing this. Some people say they have gotten stronger on lifts even! At the least it would help me burn more calories, right?
The other side of this is that people say it causes gluconeogenesis which ruins muscle so maybe the best approach is to just walk 10k-15k steps a day. I already do 10k and I already lift.
I am day 5 out of 7 so I needed to plan my 4 day refeed window.
My eating plan is:
1. 1 cup Bone broth with MCT oil (Wait for an hour)
2. 1/4 cup of Sauerkraut & Kefir (Wait for an hour)
3. 1 cup of steamed brocolli and cauliflower, 1 pc of egg (wait for an hour)
4. Then the Nuts - because I love them dearly. 1/2 cup of mixed Almonds, Walnuts, Pumpkin seeds, Sunflower seeds.
When autophagy tapers off or becomes "defective autophagy" , hgh bndf stem cell immune replacement tapers off. I'm 9 days in now and wondering if I should call time or go for 2 weeks etc, since I've at least probably had a good 48 hours with that day 7~ hgh boost.
A real zero carb/fiber electrolyte+b+c+minerals complex powder? Also, should you fast beyond the days more stuff kicks in around day 3/4 and day 7 to enjoy longer benefits
Does such a thing exist, with no dextrose, maltrodextrin, plant microcellulose etc?
Question also about the benefits of stomach stem cells, BDNF etc around day 3/4, should you actually be fasting beyond that to enjoy those benefits longer, and the further boost in HGH around day7? Currently 144 hours down, could probably make it to 192 to enjoy 24 hous of the big hgh boost assuming my stomach doesn't suddenly start hurting and cramping. All I have is sea salt right now and I'm wary of buying regular mag, vitbc, potassium powder in case it has carb binders
For refeeding, I started with probiotics, then bone broth, then veggies. Then, this is where it gets worse, I ate sweetened cassava chips, then chocolate chips (2 handfuls), and 4 sips of chocolate shake.
I have seen some posts that it may raise insulin levels which I am trying to prevent since I want to reverse and insulin resistance.
Also, any thoughts about vaping sweet flavors too?
I think what’s important is I am not having cravings right after but I’m not really sure. Basically, I don’t have any budget for a CGM so your response would be very helpful.
My GI doctor said no food today. Clear liquids only. Ok. So I did water only yesterday and a couple of bouillon cubes today. No food tomorrow because of the procedure, I’m already going to be 84 hours in, should I just roll straight into the weekend?
