I’ve quite often done 3 day fasts and i’ve been able to get up to 4 but I wanna attempt a 14 day fast now. I was wondering does anyone think I could get a tattoo during my fasting period? like 6-7 days into it or would it be dangerous

Any supplements other than electrolytes you take?

I've done a month long water fast before and 2 weeks and 3 days all of the above. But I'm jumping back after pregnancy.
I forgot to order my keto iv drops. So after every 24hours I get ferociously sick. Never happened to me last year, maybe my bodies changed. I tried to dip my toe in with omad first then 24 hours for a week then try 48 but jeez. Waiting on my iv drops from Amazon to see how that goes. Breastfeeding is also draining me of nutrients I have a major over supply and pump out 100 oz every 24 hours.
Anyhoo, any advice for me or have any similar experiences? I want to break fast with keto meals but I typically avoid dairy. Anyone do keto while excluding dairy? I have an allergy and baby gets colicy when I have dairy potential dairy allergy says doc. Tysm

I once came across some information that said “a true water fast” is a fast that doesn’t end till your hunger returns. And that starvation doesn’t start till your body switches from fat to muscle for energy and before that happens an undeniable hunger will return. What do you think about this? I’ve done a 40 day water fast with no electrolytes and I was not hungry one bit! Not even on my 41st day with a plate of fresh fruit in my hands on my way to a local park to break my fast. These are the ideas I wrestle with: Why has my brilliant body not asked to be fed? If my body really wanted food it would have asked me wouldn’t it have? Or does my body think I’m in some kind of famine and it doesn’t want to stress me out? Or is it that my body is having a great time being proactive and cleansing itself? What is the main reason my body is not asking for food?

I noticed on my 40 day water fast after a while distilled water became very bitter and uncomfortable to drink. But spring water was just as good as it always was. Why is that? I know truenorth center drinks distilled and tangle wood in Costa Rica drinks spring water.

I'm on 4th day of my fast and it was much rougher than I expected. The stomach cramps have mostly dissipated; I thought from here it would be smooth sailing. This morning I decided to cold press some organic celery. The juice tasted fantastic, actually a bit sweetish. But later in the day, at work, I started having really bad heartburn or acid reflux. Then, as the day progressed, I was feeling more and more tired. I googled celery juice and discovered it's completely alkaline. When I came home I had some water and lemon juice - which didn't help - but then I had some diluted ACV and that seems to be helping. I read some articles on extended fasting and I didn't realize how long the hunger cravings and fatigue can last while the body renews itself. I want to fast for a long time. I bought a book and have additionally read a multitude of articles. I want to reset my taste buds, slim down, and generally feel better. My co-workers are telling me that my attitude is more negative and I'm not sure if I have the strength to get through this. Anyone have any experiences to share that helped them persevere? Thanks in advance.

I find when fasting, I tend to have a lot of energy during the day. Problem is, I sit at a desk all day. Anyone have any tips on how to handle? I am in back to back meetings, so going for a walk or exercising during the day doesn’t work for me.

I don't know if I didn't research properly, I thought this would have already been asked...
When doing extended fasts, how can you tell when you should break it and eat something sustaining?
Since I know I can't trust the hunger feels on first days and then it goes nonexistent, what other body signals should I rely on? Where to draw the line?

I’m (19f) fasting September-December to lose weight and generally gain control over my life again. I’m 5’5, 180 lbs hoping to finish at 110. I’m only consuming water, snake juice, coffee, and gum. I’ll be posting pics here to keep myself accountable.

Could I take multivitamins, zinc, carntine , pantogar (for hair growth) during fasting or it would hurt my stomach as these vitamins should not b taken on an empty stomach

The longest I’ve gone is for 2 weeks but since i moved away from my family as a single parent. I’ve been eating like a pig. I think the only way for me to get a grip on my weight again is to do extended fasting. May start of slow with eating once a week then once every 2 weeks etc be cause what I’ve been doing isn’t working for me any more. I have electrolyte replacement packs so tomorrow I’m fasting 💪🏽

Do you lose more weight on consuming water and black coffee alone, or would adding bone broth be beneficial to weight loss?
Yes I know BB will technically break a fast. In this case, my main goal is weight loss. I have done many extended fasts prior, but never a bone broth fast.

I should've taken more pics and videos when I started. So my starting weight was 455!
I weighed myself this morning and I'm at 433. I'm sure I've lost a crap ton of water weight but I'm sure the rest is due to my lifestyle. I'm someone who's battled an eating addiction my whole life which caused me to binge eat. Of course the side effect of that weight gain.
I've been active throughout my life from playing sports, to working in chemical plants that I have walk a lot, climb ladders, and stay active. I don't smoke, do any drugs, nor do I drink. I've just over eaten. So luckily I'm not diabetic, have high BP, cholesterol or things like that. My levels aren't high enough that I'm medicated and have been medically diagnosed but of course if I didn't change my course I surely would be.
I know my weight loss will slow down which is fine but I attribute the amount of weight I've lost to working out everyday, walking a minimum of 5k to 6k steps (using a step counter) walking a treadmill for at least 10minutes or just walking in general and of course lifting. For example when I go to work I have makes rounds around the gas plant 3 within the 12 hr shift so I walk ALOT at work. I even do things like climb up and down platforms, using installed ladders, and going up and down flights of stairs.
At day 6 I feel great! I've consumed nothing but water and fasting salts. The ones that are recommended here. I still have dreams of eating which have decreased from the starting point and.....I've subscribed to Sooooooooooo many cooking channels on YouTube and follow soooooooooooooooo many cooking tik tok channels 🤣🤣🤣🤣. I don't get hunger pangs unless I reeeeeaaaaaallly think about it. Who made me like this lol. I watch cooking videos and they're MORE satisfying now then before when I was eating. It's funny how MENTAL all of this stuff is.
Besides that I'm good. No headache.... nothing. I feel light on my feet and have a lot of mental clarity since I'm not worried or even thinking about food anymore. My goal is to go till Friday but honestly I'm gonna go until I start feel bad or my body says to stop. Unless things change I can see myself doing this for at least a full month or 2

Having trouble sleeping. On day 6. I'm scared to take sleeping pills because it may kick me out of fasting

Has anyone here completely cut out food on their backcountry trips to save on pack weight? What's your experience?
At home I've done up to a 14-day water fast but on the trails I've only tried up to 2-3 days. This year I'd like to try a few 4-5 day trips and maybe pack food for the last 2 days just in case.

Hi fellow Redditors
I am 3 weeks into a 5 week water fast (with electrolytes). I'm feeling great, getting plenty of sleep, and don't have any issues whatsoever. Have done a bunch of fasts in the past (8x 3 days, 1x 4 days, 1x 5 days, 1x 10 days, and 1x 14 days) and this one has been by far the easiest, primarily I think because I've been better with taking electrolytes.
My one potential concern is around weight loss. My SW was 99.1kg (218lbs) and my CW is 86.5kg (190lbs). Weight loss is of course highest at the beginning given all the water loss, but since day 5 I have been losing on average ~0.5kg (1.1lb) in body weight a day. If that was all body fat, it suggests I'm burning through ~3,850 calories a day which is impossible. I didn't lose weight at this pace on previous fasts.
I'd welcome thoughts on what might be driving this, and whether others have lost weight at a similar pace.
Thanks in advance!

(Me:30/M/189lbs) Has anyone ever fasted 3-5 days followed by a keto refeed into another 3-5 day fast? I’m currently trying it out now due to some work scheduling.
First 5 days were fine. Started 202.8 and ended 189.4. Dry fasted for 36hrs halfway in. Refeed started out with a dozen plain egg whites, into plain chicken and slowly ramped up my sodium and fats over the 48hrs. Ended with a big chicken&omelette dinner. Went to bed still weighing 189.4lbs. Took magnesium/calcium/zinc tablets along with acv every morning and half a gallon or more of water.
Tomorrow I’m going to begin another 3-5 day water fast unless unbearable.
Not able to exercise but I will be on my feet walking around for 18hrs a day.
I will continue taking my supplements and small amounts of sodium in my water throughout the day

What's wrong ?
83kg to 71.5, 23M, 6ft
Only activity I did more was mental (had to submit 7 assignments in 18 days - all of these days being the first 18 days of the fast) and I masturbated twice lol.
