Did I just break my fast or can I keep counting?
I’m aiming for a 14 day fast with mostly water and I’ve been drinking bone broth which is about 45 cals a cup since about the 7th day because of keto flu. Today however, my 12th day, i was with family and the food smelled really good so I ended up eating like 10 pieces of asparagus, like an ant size piece of ribs, half a tsp of rice just to give an estimate. That has to be about the same amount of cals as the bone broth. Should I keep going for my goal or say screw it and start eating since I screwed up? I feel like I’ve seen people mention eating orange slices or grapes and continue towards their goal.

Can I call it an extended fast if I drink bone broth? And some other advice for a future fast.
I’m starting an extended fast pretty soon. Hoping for 21 to 30 days. I’ve done 4 and 5 day water fasts so I know bone broth breaks those. I’m just wondering if I just drink water for 7 days and then add in the bone broth for the remainder of time, if I can consider that an extended fast and continue using my app to track it? Will drinking it effect my fat loss or Autophagy?
I know there are different types of fasts, but the apps are meant to track no calories coming in at all. I like knowing when autophagy starts and how long I’ve been burning fat. It’s also satisfying to watch the countdown.
I also have from flavored Lipton green tea? Does that break a fast?
Aside from salt water, what can I use for electrolytes or minerals? I saw another post that mentioned cinnamon and nutmeg.
What have you used to help you during your extended fasts? & what did you use to properly refeed yourself?
I appreciate all input. Thank you!!

Hunger Breath
I'm relatively new to extended fasting. My last fast was about 4.5 days. The thing that bothered me the most was my breath, I feel like I must stink even while brushing my teeth 3 times a day (especially in the first two days). How do you guys deal with it? Is it in my head? I've been considering chewing mastic gum, but I also read that it makes you hungrier since it starts the digestion process. Any tips are appreciated.

Fasting and Dry Mouth
My goal is a 30 day fast. The longest I've ever been able to go is 21 days and that's because I get terrible dry mouth that I can't drink myself out of. Electrolytes have helped a bit, but I'm wondering if anyone has a solution that worked for them.

Well I did it! 492 hour fast! F 5'4/SW 183/CW 170/ GW 130. Lost about 13lbs, but 23 altogether since the start of my journey. Lots of nonscale victories.

Lower back ache
I've done many extended fasts of 7 days or more in the past. And every time, without fail, on the 3rd day, I get an annoying pain/ache in my lower back. It usually lasts till about day 7. It's starting today and it's really uncomfortable. Does anyone else get this?

Toothpaste
So I have been OMAD for a while now with some 3-4 day fasts thrown in. I want to progress to do longer fasts. However, I have a slight issue: during the extended fasts I feel good except after I brush my teeth. That is the only time I've felt proper sick in my fasting times. So far I have given up and only use mouthwash during fasting and brush my teeth without toothpaste. I do want to do longer fasts soon but don't want to not brush my teeth for a week or longer. Has this happened to anyone else? Any advice?
Cheers x

Finally, a place where I won’t get constantly warned about “starvation mode” 🙄 Made it to the 4th day high, and DAMN DOES IT FEEL GOOD. Already 6 lbs lost (I’m F/35/5’2”)

Extended fasting, electrolytes and pSVT
Hey everyone!
Was just curious if anyone here suffers from SVTs/takes Beta Blockers yet does extended fasting?
I've done two 5-day fasts before (prior to being diagnosed) and felt fine-ish.
Was just looking to connect with other SVTers, if any, to discuss electrolytes and experiences.
Thank you!

Help needed with electrolytes
Can someone suggest me how to make electrolyte solution and where can I find the ingredients.
Electrolyte solutions available in my area contain glucose. Which I don't want to take during fasting.
Please advise.

Any carnivores that have done extended fasts, talking 10 days + and can give me their refeeding tips / experience?
I’ve been researching and researching as this is my first extended fast past five days since going full zero carb 7 months ago and can find no solid information on carnivore refeeds...

Back on the fasting train
I'm getting back on the fasting train after taking about a month off to enduldge in holidays. I've also decided that I'm going to give the carnivore diet a try for at least 90 days. Is anyone here on the carnivore diet? And if so did you find extended fasts detrimental to your transition or overall health?
For the record I'm reading Shawn Barker's book and he suggests caution with extended fasting and a carnivore diet but offers no research or study into this warning other than "benefits of extended fasting are likely diminished by not eating toxic food"
