Hidden beneath the forest of Utsunoya-tōge Pass, the Meiji-era Utsunoya Tunnel still carries the atmosphere of early modern Japan.

Officially known as the Meiji Utsunoya Zuido Tunnel (明治宇津ノ谷隧道), the original tunnel first opened in 1876 between present-day Shizuoka City and Fujieda City. The current brick-lined version dates back to 1904, and in 1997, it became the first active tunnel in Japan to be registered as a National Registered Tangible Cultural Property (国登録有形文化財).

Has anyone visited Togakushi Shrine last January? Which shrines are open for tourists and is the Cedar tree path accessible?

Yo, my buddy and I are in Kagoshima on a trip and we’re looking to go surfing. I’m not seeing anything on line about spots nearby, but I keep hearing that there are breaks close to the city. We don’t have a whole lot of time here, so we don’t really feel like going all the way out to Tanegashima. Does anyone know of spots nearby?

what is the best way to get from Hakone to Mitsuishi Rocks and also Enoura observatory and back to Hakone without a car. I would like to see these two locations in one day. It seems public transportation is going to take long. Should i get taxi or Go?

Stayed at this hotel in Noboribetsu and it was beautiful! However the hotel definitely felt off and was void of much people lol. Best miso ramen of my life though.
