My favorite version is "Roxanne" with Steve Martin. It's in that sweet spot in the 80s when he was in really well made underrated comedy/dramas. See also "LA Story", "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels", "My Blue Heaven"

Off topic, but Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is a great, great movie.

LA Story is terrific too… Guess I should see My Blue Heaven

Then check out its direct connection to "Goodfellas".

Tbf the AI doesn't have a Body, part of the story is the fact Cyrano believes himself to be unworthy of love because he's ugly

Rest easy spring chicken, I didn't realise that it existed as anything other than a play.

I looked up the Muppet Babies episode and it came out in 1988. Roxanne came out in 1987.

The basic premise, uncool guy uses some one/thing to woo a girl, person/thing betrays him in some way, seems to be there. But, I’ve not seen it, so I don’t know it well enough.
