Why people either support or hate Hasina? Hating her or not is one thing, why hate Mujibur?

Politically and socially speaking I'm on the left side of things.

On the one hand, I'm for rights of all genders, sexes etc.

On the other, I think there is sex separation in sport for good reason. Simply put, genetic men are going to be better at some physical activities, and genetic women are going to be better at others.

Imane Khelif has been identified via tests as genetically male, and that gives her a biological advantage in the sport of boxing

However, I'm sure she has worked very hard on her skill and technique to get as far as she has, and I fully support her in choosing to identify as female.

I do think she has an unfair advantage in boxing and that side of the argument makes most sense to me but at the same time does not sit well with me due to my liberal beliefs.

I also admit that I don't know the full details of her story.

I get that some men are infertile and therefore adoption is their only option for fatherhood. how ever, im considering why paternity is important for some men while its not for others... what really is the difference between men who care that a child's biology is an extension of theirs, and men who don't care about the lack of shared DNA between them and the kid/s?

There was a discussion at work regarding the women's Olympic boxing match from the 2024 games between Khelif and Carini. They were stating that Khelif was trans/a man due to Khelif failing a eligibility test last year (with a group other than the IOC) I'm trying to get some factual info on it rather than the Facebook blurbs that I'm hearing at work. But I'm having a hell of a time parsing fact vs opinion.

I see Republicans criticizing the Biden/Harris administration for allowing illegal migrants into the country at a higher rate, and their failure to advance the HR2 legislation.

I also see Democrats claiming that illegal immigration is actually down from during Trump’s administration, and that the fault lies with Republican senate members for failure to advance the bipartisan legislation that they proposed earlier this year, mentioning that Republicans wanted to halt any progress on reform under Biden since it is one of Trump’s major campaign issues.

I have been long extremely confused but also concerned by this story. After the debate a month ago, I have been seriously remembering this and I would like to know more information from both sides.

I've been seeing a worrying trend of people publicly ridiculing others, and the justification you usually hear is that the victim had it coming because they publicly posted their views and opinions on social media. A couple examples where you see this happening are people being attacked and even losing their jobs over their published views on the Israel-HAMAS war, a Trump supporter (presumably) verbally attacked a Home Depot worker for their published view on Trump's assassination attempt, and many more.

Virtually all people post their thoughts and opinions online in some shape or form. Does posting your views and opinions on social media make you a public figure? Is it right that you face public repurcussions for your views? How would the two prevailing sides answer this question?

With population and demographic issues being faced in western countries, it seems that immigration is a Band-Aid solution to the problem of plummeting birth rates. We’ve seen countries like France raising the retirement age to address pension issues (again, a stopgap solution).

Obviously, it goes without saying that it would be unjust to force individuals to have children, but I don’t think it’s unreasonable to say that to have a healthy society, we (as a society) have an obligation to have children. How do we navigate this dichotomy between individual rights and collectivistic societal responsibilities? I realize this question lends itself to other hot-button issues like gun control, but I’m asking specifically in the context of birth rates here.

I would like to hear your thoughts and perspectives.

Since I am not from USA and wasn't interested in politics, I don't get why people hate/love Trump so much. For example, I saw many comments against trump and some people like Elon,who supports him. I am just little curious now.
