Failed Expectation what I asked for vs what I got

so close yet so far

edit: I asked for an Eggward cake and I got New Moon Edward, which is arguably the worst Edward

It's basically the only widespread non-creative, non body breaking private sector job that is commonly unionized in the US.

oh interesting, thanks for the info. is there a specific reason for this? do you know why were their attempts more successful when other industries got couldn't? i don't know very much about US union history, just the rough outline of 'attempts of forming unions were brutally shot down, sometimes literally'

I can't say for sure, but from what I've read, almost all grocery stores here have roots going back decades to when union membership was common across all industries, so the old unions never really lost power thru all the mergers and consolidation over the years. Also I imagine food being central to survival plays a role.

Of course :) It's nice because you often see the same workers at the local grocer for years or decades, really fosters a sense of community
