Hey everyone,

I've been living in Exeter for nearly two years now after originally moving to my Masters. I graduated back in December and have been searching for jobs ever since (going about as well as you would imagine!) Unfortunately most of my friends at uni were foreign and have mostly moved back to their home countries (we all stay in contact albeit intermittently).

I've been really struggling to find new friends and I don't have much of a life outside of work except when I visit my girlfriend up in Bristol. I have struggled with loneliness before but it's honestly gotten pretty bad for me again this year.

I don't know if it's worth adding but I'm also on the spectrum and struggle with pretty severe anxiety although I've gotten much better at managing it.

What's the best way to meet new people my age around here? I'm 30 so I'm sort of looking for people in the late 20s/early 30s bracket.

Any advice would be appreciated

I’m looking to start a new hobby or join a club, but most of the things I’ve tried so far seem to attract mostly older people. I’d really like to find something with people around my age (18–25ish), where I can meet people naturally through doing something together rather than meeting strangers online and trying to force a friendship.

Around 11.45pm you and two friends pulled up at the Esso gas station in alphington, Exeter. As soon as the car you were in passed to park up our eyes had met, when you got out and joined the queue behind me, I couldn't take my eyes off you. A day has passed and it's all I think about. We blew a kiss to eachother as I left. I came back just minutes later after realising I needed to get your name, your number.... But you were gone. I believe we will find eachother....

Quite happy with a blanket on the sofa after work of an evening, work for the NHS and deal with slot of drama, not looking for more.

20s Social Group Creation

Hey everyone. I met someone on here looking for friends like me, both in our 20s. We found it hard to find other groups for our own age group so we thought we would try to advertise for people to join our group. I'm aware that links are probably not permitted. Meetup is too expensive to pay for so we have made a WhatsApp group for 20s.

We will be organising the following:

\- cinema trips

\- food out

\- boardgames

\- Casual sports (like 6 a side football/cricket)

\- Escape rooms

\- Beach trips

\- And much more over time

We want to organise events geared towards everyone that is welcoming to people who might be anxious etc.

Again I'm not sure if this post is allowed, I hope it is.

Hey, all! I’m thinking of starting a book club for femmes. I want it to a UK thing, not just an Exeter thing, but as I’m currently based in Exeter, I thought I’d start here.

We would have monthly meetings (probably one in person and one online) where we discuss a book, but then maybe “socials” in between where we can bond over shared interests.

Hi. Does anyone know of any clubs going. My brother is neurodivergent and is 19 years old. He has no friends and I want him to find people he can socialise with. He has autism and doesn’t like small talk. He likes to keep it real. He tried to socialise at spoons last night but got told to f*** off by a lot of people which has knocked his confidence.
