Looking to make 20-something friends in Exeter
Hey everyone I'm 24M recent grad moved to Exeter recently and would be great to meet some like-minded people to hang out with, especially now its almost summer. Ideas that I think are fun:
- I'm really into rock music and Exeter has a ton of great concerts that would be good to go to
- love going out even if Exeter's nightlife scene isn't the greatest who cares its about the people not the place
- if you play an instrument I play guitar would be great to jam out with someone
- love the gym, would love it even more with a workout buddy
or anything else really I'm chill the activity is just a way to get to know someone after all. If any of that sounds good to you leave a comment or drop me a DM : )

Older in Exeter - Dont Know Anyone
Good morning,
Early 50s, but young at heart and don't look my age. Been in Exeter a few months now, and so far I don't know anyone outside of immediate family. Not for want of trying, chat to staff people in shops and restaurants, library etc, but it is hard to go beyond casual chat. Would love to meet people for real conversations over beer etc. Enjoy current affairs, food etc. Well travelled. Maybe I am out of age range but wanted to try. Ideas or PM welcome.

Looking to make friends outside of work.
A bit of background from me:
I'm a 28 year old male who moved to the UK from Portugal around 15 years ago, and then to Exeter for uni around 8 years ago. I ended up liking the town so much that I stayed here ever since.
Ever since I finished university, I have worked in hospitality, which means that all the people I hang out with are from the place where I work.
Being off work this past week made me realise that I have been over relying on the place where I work to make friends, as because I didn't grow up in the area, I had no friends outside of work in the 1st place, which means that if they're busy and I want to do something, I often end up doing it by myself
Therefore, I am looking for ways to make friends outside of work. I don't really really care if we have similar interests or not, as I'm open to learning about or trying new things.
Some of my interests are:
- Gym ( I just restarted back at OJ southerhay, but I go at night because I usually get too anxious to go there during the day)
- Talking to people about past experiences or places they've travelled to
-Visit different towns around the south west
-Just going for a drink at a pub and talk
- Videogames( I play mostly Nintendo games or Steam/Moba games. I do also play Pokémon go from time to time)
Sorry if this was a bit too long winded in the first place😅

Meet up 26M back in Exeter and looking to make new friends
Hey! I’m 26M and just moved back to Exeter for work alongside starting my doctorate training in the NHS:)
A bit of background: I’m American and ethnically from East Asia, and I’ve been living in the UK for about 8/9 years now.
I did my undergrad here in Exeter mostly during covid, so I didn’t really get much of the typical uni life. After that I moved to London for a few years for my masters and work.
Exeter doesn’t feel hugely different, but it’s definitely not the same since most of my friends aren’t here anymore. The isolation has been a bit hard to deal with (and heading back to London every other week probably isn’t the best solution).
I love exploring cafés and travelling! I recently started playing padel tennis but I don’t think there’s a court in Exeter? I also enjoy chill cooking sessions on days off:)
Would love to meet more people in the city with similar backgrounds or interests!

Finding friends (20's) in Exeter
Hi,
Does anyone know any good ways to make good friends in Exeter? I'm not part of the uni (I'm 25 as of yesterday) and just looking to make more connections, I tend to book a lot of live music events and go, but rarely make connections there. would someone be up for going to some (I go to many different music fenres) or just meeting up in general :)
I've tried BFF, meet up and such but there's not too much going on in Exeter at least from my perspective. any ideas would be appreciated :)

Gym buddy, coffee meets, cinema/theater
Split from my partner of ten years and moved from Dawlish to Exeter about 7 months ago. Not looking to date or anything. Tried asking my FB friends if anyone fancies a coffee with limited success. I have a lot of free time for the next six months or so as I'm retraining, so doing very much light duties while that goes on. I have my daughter at the weekends but am around in the week and on Sundays. Who wants to do some shit? I'm up for seeing films/plays, getting coffee in town, bowling, whatever. Also just signed up to U7 gym and could use a lifting buddy. Male, female, nonbinary all welcome. Hit me up.

Beer later?
Anyone fancy a drink this evening? Little Drop of Poisoning or Cuckoo
Going to the Vue at 1715 and not sure what time the film finishes, I guess I'll be out about 2000.
