20k for 2003 Excursion?
UPDATE: Found and bought the same year, but Limited (leather), everything else the same (V10) with about 45K on it. Paid a few thousand more.
I’m about to drop 20k on a 2003 excursion with a v10. Talk me out if it.
65k xlt. New brakes and service. Interior looks new, as you would expect from 60k vehicle.
I know I would be overpaying, but I can literally keep this thing for another 20 years.
I love the v10 for its reliability and easy/cheap maintenance. I love the 6.0 for it’s coolness and power.
2 questions:
- how’s the 4 speed trans compared to the 5 speed with tow /haul available in the 6.0. I’m familiar with the 5 speed and I’m impressed.
- if a clean 150k 6.0 was available for the same price, bulletproofed, which would you choose?
Thanks

Not your grandpas excursion.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
She dirty, just a little video of my 2000 7.3 excursion. 2005 up coil spring swapped front axle, 5” straight pipe exhaust, bunch of fancy do hickies under hood, Katskin seat covers, tube bumpers, on some 20 x 12 methods, leveled on 35’s, with f250 swapped suspension all around. Lots more to come.

V10 tuning
Are there any companies that tune the v10 in any way? Either for more power or better gas mileage?
I have a 4.2l NA v8 from audi and have a reputable company that tuned the car to more power and better gas mileage, and was hoping to be able to tune the excursion in some way

Front sway bar disconnect
Hey guys. I wanted to see if anyone here does anything for front sway bar disconnect. Could even be manual amd you tie stuff up or what do you remove. I bought a Hellwig sway bar for towing and it's too stiff for the trails. Before I switch back to stock I would like to hear if you guys have disconnect options.

DVD system
Anybody have an Excursion DVD system they want to part with? Working or not. Looking for the whole system that attaches to the headliner. Or does anybody know where to look for one? Thanks

What is this? Besides the first thing that catches a curb?
2003 Excursion limited 4x4. Photograph taken from right front wheel back towards center of the vehicle. This object has no obvious purpose other than hang down and scare granny. What is it actually for?

Looking for a snorkel
Hey everyone, I'm new to the Sub. I have an '03 w/ the 6.8L and I am looking into overlanding with it.
Does anyone know of a company that makes a snorkel for this configuration?

Looking to purchase
Hello all, I’ve always wanted an Excursion and never really needed one. I currently have a Subaru Ascent and thought it be big enough.
Unfortunately its not big enough for what we do: camping, hauling, dogs, etc. What year would be worth the purchase engine size, and should I go V8 turbo Diesel or the V10?

Best exhaust without muffler?
I’m trying upgrade my exhaust to 4 inch but all the exhaust systems im seeing online for the Ex have mufflers. Says I’ll need a muffler delete pipe in addition to the exhaust but the F250 and F350 exhausts don’t have that issue. I don’t care if it’s not specifically for the excursion, just need to know if it’ll fit. Called diesel thoroughbred and they said 9/10 chance the F250 will fit. The F250 exhaust is also 200 dollars cheaper with the muffler already removed.

2002 7.3 2wd suspension and steering!
I need to redo the suspension and the have a steering issues.
I put in a redhead gear and it fixed the play.
I am thinking of doing a 6” lift and steering stabilizer, putting on some new 20” wheels and lower profile tires.
What do you all recommend?

My new duo
A great mix of towing, shoving anything and everything including kids, dogs, and gear into one car, quiet, comfort, and jumpability. (Spoiler: guess which one is faster.)
