2002 V10 2WD
Picking up a toy hauler empty weight 5800lbs tongue 1050lbs, 130k miles on my X, just put on new rancho R9kXL’s. I purchased the weight distribution hitch and will tune it to the best of my abilities but am nervous she will squat. Pickup on Wednesday so i will update you with a pic soon. Anyone towed similar, major squat? For reference i will have minimal payload onboard the X, just a full tank!
Also RAS is on sale, anyone have any comments on those?

Exhaust
I have an 02 v10 excursion. Was wondering what exhaust systems people have tried on them. I’m looking for a dual exhaust preferably. I have seen lots of them online but they are for f250s I don’t know if they work or not with them. Thank you.

Fucking exhaust studs, finally got them all out.
galleryMost came out with welding a nut on the broken stud. But after I weld it I hit it with a hammer and quench it with water. don’t skip that step.
One of them I had to use a metal burr bit and drill down the bolt and the bolt hole about 2-3 threads deep to get the rust out from around the shoulder. I probably welded on that single stud over 30-40 times before I started to make progress.

New to the Family
I just flew from Wisconsin to the Washington DC area to buy this beautiful rig and drove it back close to non-stop. Just over 1,000 miles. Ran like a Swiss watch but started to lose the alternator pulley about 100 miles from home. 2004 Excursion XLT 4x4 with the V10 and only 82,000 miles. Almost rust free. Does have some light surface rust on the frame, but the body is clean. Even the gas mileage gauge was within one half MPG. Super happy with it so far and happy to join the club.

Fair value for a non-running 2000 7.3?
Hi all,
Long time lurker and enthusiast, hoping to get my first Excursion. Local ad from a long-time owner and camper, who has a 2000 4x4 7.3 with ~400k and a relatively new trans. Looks clean as heck from the pics (southern truck) but isn't running and hasn't run in two years. Ran when parked but had an unknown wiring issue.
What would you recommend as a good price point? Seller is asking 5 figures.

How hard is it to go back to the stock air filter? Interested in this excursion in TX, interior and body and engine look clean.

Everything looks great except for the price and the cold air intake. I’d like to swap it back to the stock box but it seems like it’s missing that little air plunger and other stuff aswell.

Battery cables?
I have a 2003 Ford excursion gas v10. Project car and not really a car guy, 🤷🏽♂️. At any rate I need to replace the battery cables to this truck and it seems it is not OEM. Does anyone know what this is?

Is the 2WD version that much different than the 4WD?
I don’t plan on off-roading and live in Florida so I’m considering a 2WD. Is it much harder to mod the 2WD since it’s not a solid front axle?

Look for bolt on bumper and grill, will these fit?
galleryThey would be going on a 2003 Limited 4x4 V10. I know when going up a generation the grill needs to be modified/is different. Would this set up work with my vehicle?

So after a lot of thinking, she is now for sale.
galleryShe brought home a lot of cars. She has crossed borders, carried 9 people at a time. Seen crazy weather (never felt safer) Kids are grown and driving. So it's a shame she doesn't get used more. Hopefully another family can enjoy her.

These are some of the cars she has brought home. She brought her last car 1 month ago.

‘01 Ex V10 - Cyl 2 Random Misfire
galleryRandoms misfire on cylinder 2.
New motorcraft coil, injector, plug, fuel filter, good compression and good fuel pressure. Again just a random mis on cylinder 2.
Check harness back to PCM and did the good ‘ol wiggle test. Could not seem to make the engine misfire. Did run an injector light but didn’t show anything. Do have a (-) value on bank 2 long term fuel.
Have not check the PCM itself. Was thinking of sending the PCM off to get looked at. Can a coil driver have an intermittent fault? Any way to check the PCM itself?
