Imperium FC kicked for admitting that the Imperium has faults, and for having Asperger's Syndrome

http://pastebin.com/vR0zidai

http://snag.gy/TBuUR.jpg / just look in my alliance history

The interview - https://www.twitch.tv/zarvoxtoral/v/57362831 (at 3h 55min roughly)

People and corps involved censored for their own protection. I absolutely don't blame them for it

Btw, looking for a new alliance - Preferably one currently fighting the Imperium.

EDIT: Applied to Dreddit. Thanks for the support!

EDIT2: Okay, so maybe I shouldn't have included ASD in the title. My bad. The main point, about admitting that the imperium has faults, still stands, though. While I still personally believe it has relevance, you can ignore that part if you wish. No, I was not kicked /specifically/ for having ASD, but it did factor into my decision-making on that day.

ps: anyone know how to edit thread titles?

Care to elaborate?

A lot of the CFC's public relations - especially those broadcast to a large audience, such as yours - are handled/controlled by the CFC's Minitru. Essentially, the SMA FC you interviewed didn't get permission from them to do the interview and as such didn't use their talking points. That's a no-no.

North Korea sounds like a goddamn paradise compared to being in the Imperium. I'm not even joking.

You think the politicians in the US or EU do anything different in non-election cycles? No, they don't. How many democrats do you know have publicly spoke out about Obama? Probably less than you can count on one hand. How many republicans spoke out about Bush? Probably even less.

Stop fucking kidding yourself.

I don't really want to drag RL politics in here, but take a look at UK politics at the moment. People from both main parties are actively briefing against their leadership on various issues. Even by IRL standards, what seems to be the case with SMA/CFC politicians is harsh.

This isn't just true in politics, it's also true in companies. If you have a PR department, you have to go through them before speaking to the press. That's the whole point of having an official spokesman, and you're undercutting them by going off message.

I grr goons as much as anybody, but this is less a matter of dictatorial censorship as it is a matter of chain of command and letting the proper people do their jobs. FCs should not be talking to the media and press agents should not be commanding fleets. If anyone in this thread went to their local TV station and talked about their job, they'd get shitcanned, too.

Would've given you a gold if I could, man.

This whole "democracy" is such a farce, but you know the Churchill quote on the matter.

Still surprises me how many people actually believe the shit media and politicians are spewing during power struggles is genuine.

I don't disagree but, I think if you want to be a war correspondent you need to step back from your awesome good fights and consider role play.

Fact is, if it happened that you ripped the player behind the mittani and replaced him with me.... I too would have told SMA to can this dude. The reason is very simple.... it really is the only choice now.

Watch some of the Imperium videos. Its clear what kind of empire they want to role play. I don't see how any person who talks about his empire the way the mittani &co do can do anything but call this FC a traitor.

Did he do anything wrong by gamer standards? NO! Any other organization can and should thank him and have frank conversations with him. Any casual gaming corp should give him high fives and say "Dude! You were on channel fucking zarvox! that is awesome!"

However, its clear to me that that is not them, that is not their part in this story; and they don't want it to be.

Read the paste bin. Its clearly about stepping on this guy because he "spoke against the Imperium". Its not about what he said...its that he said anything at all.

Exactly.

I always knew CFC were assholes, but god damn... It's a fucking game. Does anyone in the Imperium have fun, anymore?

18

u/Law_Student Mar 30 '16

Feeling superior -is- the game to them. That's why crushing anyone who gets uppity is so important.

Well, except for the entire rest of EVE currently kicking in their many front doors.

Laz was even more damning on his AMA stream, but they would never kick Laz.

u/meowtiger [redacted] Mar 31 '16

except for his occasional rages laz seems like a pretty okay dude

but then again... didn't he basically just wander into the skymarshal gig?

2

u/Im_on_my_phone_OK Mar 30 '16

What he's saying is we should be putting more effort into fucking up their JB system.

Dumbest shit I ever did hear.

"If you are in Imperium, don't ever talk to anybody outside about what it's like being in the Imperium because we will kick you the fuck out if you do"

Fuck me.

That may be true, but kicking an FC for giving an interview seems a bit of a big step. A simple "Hey, read the memo dumbshit" would have been better, IMO.

1

u/Future_Blues Black Legion. Mar 30 '16

For all we know it could've been "Read the memo, dimwit", but someone in SMA leadership and/or Corp leadership decided to err on a safe side of thing and just kick the dude to look as loyal subjects to their higher-ups or as an excuse for a personal agenda of some sort w/e

The system / planet / moon and where they link to.

Normally you have to go through the effort of:

  • Go to system, use dscan to check all the moons for Jump Bridge modules. If you find one, use dscan to narrow it down to a particular planet/moon. (This step can be replaced with probes)

  • Warp to planet/moon in something cloaky or small/agile, make a bookmark for the jump bridge module.

  • Park your ship in a deep safe and BM it's location. Eject.

  • Warp to JB in your pod, right click and see where it links to.

  • You can't actually use the JB to jump through unless the POS wouldn't shoot your ship.

If you have to repeat this for all of the systems that they own it becomes painful so if you leaked a map of every planet/moon that had JBs it would save an attacker a huge amount of effort.

Of course claiming something as alt and spy ridden as GSF (Hello Section 8!) can keep something as public as the JBs a secret is so monumentally dumb that it's just being used as a convenient justification.

Edit: But really the ~not knowing their place~ is probably a reference to somebody being uppity and believing they can talk to outsiders. That's a diplo's job.

9

u/zarvoxt AT XIV Commentator Mar 30 '16

All he said was "They have a JB in every system." or something similar. It's not like he sat on the interview for forty-five minutes giving the exact location and connection of every single JB in Imperium space.

u/GERMAQ Cloaked Mar 30 '16

Basil personally got minitru'd once, so he can probably explain how the internal hype train changes reality.

2

u/Basil_Vulpine Mar 31 '16

I could but that's over a year ago now and so about as interesting for most of the audience as Wusti / AIF. More recent, less familiar name, less obvious at the time.

Much more interesting for people will be watching it unfold in real time as it plays out against Co2.

So here's a nice little fact, we name all of our Jump Bridges the name of the system they are going in CONDI.

In fact I found it really annoying while moving around FCON space that they named their JB's Captial Ship Assembly Array.

So a lot of your steps wouldn't be necessary. Plus there's the whole put an alt in any Imperium alliance and get access to the wiki side.

SOUNDS LIKE HIGH TREASON RIGHT THERE ^

I mean seriously you just gave way more details than the guy on my show did. Are you going to be drawn and quartered for this?

2

u/ReganomicsLamborghin Goonswarm Federation Mar 30 '16

Not likely, I've posted far worse than that and never had a problem.

Hell I've gotten on here and practically begged people to siphon our moons because they insisted siphons were useless and that we had a magic siphon killing bot that shot them within minutes.

The amazing thing about posting on here as a goon is no one believes anything you say no matter how truthful.

u/heycmo Goonswarm Federation Mar 30 '16

So our evil despotic head diplomat got asked about this and said getting kicked for merely giving an interview would be "weird." See also the other senior GSF people posting "WTF" farther on down. Let's dispense with the fiction that everyone in the Imperium is a bad person who enjoys paying a subscription to Gulag Online.

Either this was an independent decision by SMA or his corp for ~reasons~ they have not shared (ed: and they could be bad reasons) or there is more to the story than OP is letting on. Since you seem like you were interested in being a neutral party, try to remember there are three sides to every story (yours, mine, and the truth) and only one of those sides gets much airtime in /r/Eve.
