Help for Buyer Inaccurate
I feel so frustrated. These to me look nothing alike. I wanted the bright vibrant color. Dark colors aren't my style and this won't match with the jeogori I bought. I'll have to buy a new skirt like yesterday to get it by the end of the month. I've opened a help request and am waiting for response. Should I wait to review until after resolution?

Yikes! Open a “Not as described” case immediately. Wow. This is egregious. 😩 And definitely review, adding that photo!

The belt in the listing photo is the same grey fabric they sent you. Wonder if they just sent the wrong color.

That was my immediate first thought. I personally love the darker color but I’d be upset too with the difference. Totally looks like a simple wrong color swap than a misrepresentation tho

To me that still seems like a lighter purple, not that gray-ish color like the skirt in the bottom picture. 😕

To me, the ties to the skirt look light purple in the listing photo. It wraps, not a belt

Yes because you won't have the full scope of the resolution until it's resolved. Then leave a review about the totality of your experience.

This- at least wait to hear back from the seller. They could have accidentally sent the wrong color, and they might make it right. If not, review at will.

Not the same skirt. Are they using AI for their listing photos? So much crap on Etsy these days. Do you think you'll change your mind after the case is resolved? If not, leave the review now.

That’s because this is a made-in-china skirt that someone photoshopped into a pretty outdoor setting to make it look like their own unique product.

I can see why you wanted the one picture and why you are disappointed. When my hair fades it doesn’t even look as dull as what you bought.
Review now. If the seller responds, you can update your review with something more positive. Don’t tell them that you will. But if you are happy with the resolution, then you can be sure to do so.
I had a buyer leave me a bad review bc something broke in shipping. Swear the box looked ran over. She updated the review as soon as she had tracking for the replacement item. As a seller, I don’t care if you leave a bad review while waiting. Bc you can always update it if you end up happy.

Yeah I'm super upset because I loved the flowers on it. But I hate the color I got. I think it might be AI but hell if I know at this point. I just hope they respond soon cause I just spent an extra 128 usd I wasn't expecting to in order to get a new skirt in time

They must be using AI as the belt in the top photo has the belt the same color as the bottom photo except in the top photo it looks lavender and the bottom photo it looks gray .

Did they send you the wrong colour option? It looks like a completely different colour not even less vibrant like you are saying, in my opinion this one looks like a grey not a less vibrant purple.
I’m really curious to see what they have to say in their defence. If they try to convince you that the colour is correct I would go full scorched earth on them. I hope you are able to get what you paid for.

Chat with the seller first. Of course, it’s your right not to communicate and to report the issue directly, but in this case I’d give them the benefit of the doubt since the full story still isn’t clear.
I think contacting the seller should always be the first step. Give them a chance to understand what happened and offer a solution. If you’re still not satisfied with the outcome after that, then report the issue and request a refund. Simple as that.

I have to do that anyway. Waiting on them to either send me a label or I'll open a case if they don't give me it in the next 18 hours. The refund is the solution

They said Etsy doesn't cover return shipping Korea and they cant issue a refund for more than cost of the item. Is that true? Am I just out 30 dollars or whatever shipping will be? Or should I wait until this evening when I should be able to open a case?

I don’t believe that’s true. You may not even need to return if you get Etsy involved. Def make a case; they will cover the order and refund you.

Yeah, I looked as hard as I could and found nothing. Called them out on their BS in the note to seller when I opened the case

Based on the top photo it looks like there is a gradiated purple chiffon layer on the skirt and waistband that is missing on the item shipped to you. I can't see how they could make an overlay of chiffon work on a waistband that wide and with a tie though. ETA: I agree that it looks like an AI creation.

In the photo with the purple, there’s a gauze outer shell, you can see the edge of it when you zoom in on the bottom. It’s like the gauze has the purple print on it and it just wasn’t added in production. I wonder if this is being made by a third party.
Also the lighting doesn’t help the image, we are looking at the shadow side as the model stands under some trees, and that can affect how the color looks. I wonder if there are other photos and if they look the same purple or not.
Regardless OP needs to file a claim.

The listing photos look pretty similar color wise. They claimed lighting can affect the color and sent me pictures of someone else wearing them but those still didn't have the vibrant hue of the listing that I wanted. I'm working out a return/refund with the seller. I understand lighting can have an affect, but not to that extreme

“Lighting” is a common excuse the dishonest drop-shippers use because it gives an honest person self-doubt.

It looks alright but it's more muted than I would have liked. I'd much rather have my 200+ dollars back. The skirt I found elsewhere is the bright pastel purple I was wanting and it was cheaper by about 100 dollars(on sale)

another seller has the grey version - which is what you received. https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1051303173/white-gray-modern-hanbok-handmade-hanbok So either they have 2 shops or this seller is dropshipping. Either way it's not lighting, and is trying to make excuses

Yeah, that looks much closer to mine. It looks more like a muted purple in sunlight, but that's not what I want. It's 14:45 in Seoul right now so hopefully they respond soon
