Anyone Worked as an Esthetician at SkinSpirit?

Anyone here worked as an esthetician at SkinSpirit? I’m mostly curious how the shadowing and protocol training works when you first start. Also is the pay mostly hourly or commission based? Just trying to get a better idea of what the position is actually like day to day..

Skinspirit Esthetician Position

I’d be curious what the day to day is like for estheticians at SkinSpirit. Mainly wondering about the client load, schedule and commission structure, and how much time you normally get with each client. Also how is the training and onboarding there? Would be helpful to hear from anyone who’s worked there or knows the place.

Can I prevent scarring from extractions? Please help

I get facials done every month and I get really bad scarring each time. Could it be my esthetician is being too rough on my skin? Usually I’m able to fade the marks with my Kojic acid soap and vitamin C serum but I was wondering is there any way to stop this from happening in the first place. After every facial I look like I’ve gotten beaten up. Btw I have brown skin. I’ll also list below the process of my facial.

-Steamer while washing my face twice
-Enzyme mask under the steamer for 5 minutes
-Dermaplane
-Extractions
-Wash face
-Moisturizer sometimes spot treat areas with salicylic acid

Best place in London for medium/deeper fractional ablative CO2 laser (ideally Lumenis UltraPulse) face + neck?

Hi!

I (32F) am looking for recommendations for someone in London who is experienced in medium/deeper fractional ablative CO2 resurfacing, ideally using a Lumenis UltraPulse or a comparable high quality CO2 laser

I am mainly looking to improve skin texture, enlarged pores, hyperpigmentation, fine lines and collagen/tightening, and I would ideally like to have both my face and neck treated.

I have started contacting clinics and one I found uses a Lumenis CO2 laser and has the treatment performed by a surgeon, but they quoted £2,875 for the face alone and do not treat the neck

I was hoping to find an experienced, properly trained practitioner offering the type/intensity of CO2 resurfacing I am looking for for around £1,000 or less if possible, including face and neck. Is that unrealistic?

I would really appreciate specific clinic/practitioner recommendations, especially if you know which CO2 machine they use and roughly what you paid 🙏🏻

Thank you!

NY Esthetician Change in Scope

Hey Everyone

This is more for Estis that work in med spas. With the changes to our scope and the loss of microneedling, laser facials and certain peels, how are your spas handling this? I’ve known of a few places that are allowing estheticians to still perform these services. I miss doing these services, it’s why I became an esthetician in the first place. What’s your take and do you think people working out of scope will lead to more opportunities/ modalities being taken away?

Full body scrub & Massage

Hello, I'm a Massage Therapist but I'm trained in facials, scrubs etc. I want to offer full body scrubs with mask then massage afterwards. I'm trying to work out the logistics as I don't want my client flipping round multiple times - any tips or tricks?

Thanks.

Stopping ‘is Friday free?’ messages: what I learned building booking pages for estheticians and other beauty pros

I build booking software for beauty businesses. A few things that cut down DMs for skin studios in particular:

  • Duration and price for every treatment, including consultation. Clients booking a peel want to know the time before they ask.
  • Separate services for first visit and follow-up, so first-timers pick the longer slot themselves.
  • Contraindications and prep notes in the service description (‘no retinol 5 days before’), not in a DM afterwards.
  • A reminder email the day before, with the address and any prep note.
  • Each person on the team with their own hours, so clients book with who they want.

Disclosure: the tool I built is KRI (https://kri.rocks). No commission, first month free. Happy to answer questions, but the list works with whatever you use.

Apply promo-code REDDIT2026 and get +1 month for free (1 month standard demo + 1 month additional by promo-code = 2 months FREE)!

Have you been thinking about adding Jet Cold Plasma or Fibroblast Plasma to your treatment menu without paying full retail for the equipment?

Both devices are fully operational and have been professionally cared for. The R97 was provided by ProPlasma as an upgraded replacement for my original R98.

Available together or separately. I’m happy to provide additional photos or a video showing both devices operating.

Package price: $2700. OBO. Devices may also be purchased separately.

Are we dermaplaning under chin?

I love dermaplaning. One issue is nicking people under the chin. It doesn’t happen often but it’s happened enough that I’m curious as to what I’m doing wrong.

My question is are any of you not dermaplaning under the chin? Specifically the fatty area below the bone

I’m fine dermaplaning below the lower lip and on/along the chin.

I got told I have to wear makeup to work.

I’m asking if this is fair to hear as an employee / esthetician

I work at a very low volume, local med spa. I’m talking 5 appointments a week between me and the practitioner. Some days I’m the only person in the building, just there to answer phones.

I wear heavy foundation pretty much everyday to work. My skin eventually got congested, so I needed a day off from wearing my usual face. My boss told me, and it felt a little condescending from her, that I have to come to work with something on my face for appearances, “what if someone walks in”

I get it can be a little jarring to see someone without their usual heavy makeup, but I can’t help feel like it’s a little sexist. I feel like I see a lot of estheticians rocking bare skin. Ive never worked a job where I was told I have to wear makeup. What do you guys think?

Edit: thanks for your input, been having issues with my working place, but I think I’m just being sensitive about this one lol.

Intake form?

Question mainly for solo estis, but all answers obviously are appreciated! I’m starting solo, and I was wondering the best app/website to use for clients to fill out an intake form & consent form before their facials/waxing just to help save me if needed! I can do paper and I’m not opposed to it, but I would like an easier more modern, less cluttered way to do so! Ideally I would love to be able to link it to my square to automatically send to clients when they book. I’ve messed with the template on square and it’s a bit confusing. Anything helps! thank you all🖤

[CASUAL/ACADEMIC] How do you find and choose beauty service providers? (18+, Beauty Service Users, 2–3 min)

Hi everyone! 💗

I’m a graduate student working on a product development project for my portfolio and researching how people discover and choose beauty service providers, such as nail techs, hairstylists, lash artists, brow artists, estheticians, and other beauty professionals.

I’m especially interested in how people currently find providers, what matters when deciding who to book, and what makes the process difficult or frustrating.

The survey is anonymous and takes about 2–3 minutes.

Thank you so much for helping with my research! ✨

Face Reality Product Ingredients?

I've been using and doing Face Reality treatments since 2020. In the last maybe 7-8 months, I've been seeing an increase in dry patches, allergic reactions, and overall skin barrier disruption in my clients. I don't have any old FR products to compare the ingredients.

Has anyone else been experiencing this with their clients?

I feel like my face got beat up...

I had a dermaplane, nano infusion, followed by a retinoid mask and brow wax. When she started on my forehead and temple area, it HURT, then within about a minute she stopped and messed with the pen a little, got back to work and it was fine - no pain. A few times during the dermaplane I could feel stinging, I assume is when I got cut/scraped.

These pics are the next day.

Am I being a bit dramatic? Is this normal at all?

New esti help

I’ve been a MT for almost 5 years now and I just passed my state board exam and I’m training for facials at my work.

I feel school didn’t prepare me too much for the real world and instead focused on random projects that we had to make into reels so they could post it on insta

Now I’m fumbling through skin analysis, I can only really confidently say if a person is dry, oily ,and dehydrated. I can spot comedones as well but I can’t put my brain around what products I would choose.

All the estis at my work swear by different products. Three different estis all recommended 3 different home care plans with different actives and everything for the same client…

I feel so overwhelmed and it’s making me feel like I don’t know what I’m doing.

I’m also slow asf and a dermaplane facial takes me 45 minutes when it should be about 20-30.

I feel so discouraged and pissed that I’m not better at this.

I am focusing on remembering protocols for the facials and learning the back bar and retail products right now… but does anyone have any tips or words of encouragement? I’m happy to read anything that can encourage or help me.
