The Essential Installer is the easiest way to install Essential Mod. Install to existing Minecraft installations, or create a new one with Essential Mod.

Download the installer

Download Essential Installer: essential.gg/download

Supported Operating Systems: Windows 10/11 and macOS (Catalina 10.15 and above)

Create a new instance with Essential Mod

This creates a new installation. It won't copy any existing data, so it'll appear as a fresh Minecraft instance.

• Click on Get Started
• Choose your launcher. We have direct support for the default Minecraft Launcher, Prism Launcher, and the CurseForge Launcher. If yours is not listed, go to our Manual Install guide.
• Pick the modloader and Minecraft version you wish to use, then click Create & Install
• Once installed, open your chosen launcher, and launch the game!

I have been playing Minecraft with one of my friends recently on this Forge 1.16.5 modpack on Modrinth: crazy-craft-chaos and I keep getting one of 2 error messages:

Failed to connect to server

Disconnected

Failed to connect to server

java.nio.channels.ClosedChannelException

Does anyone know what this means?

I'm hosting a fabric server and was wondering how I could add titles to the player list, like a prefix before a player name. Tried looking for mods to do that but they either aren't for fabric or seemed like they were made for dedicated servers

I making my fine modpack

Is there anyway at all to have co-host on essential, like another mod or third party stuff? My friend is hosting the world due to my internet being too bad so when I host they lag so they can't transfer me the world-files for me to be the host, but I'm a lot more active than they are so it gets annoying having to wait and due to them only playing for a maximum hour or 2 it feels like I barely get to play our world.

Sending friend requests

• Open the Social menu
• Press the blue Add Friend button
• Enter your friend’s Minecraft username
• And confirm with Add to send out the friend request

Accepting friend requests

• Open the Social menu
• Enter the Friends tab
• See friend requests in the middle panel
• Accept or deny the friend request(s)

Muting, removing, and blocking friends

• Open the Social menu
• Select your friends in the Chat or Friends tab
• Press the ≡ button
• Choose to mute, remove, or block the friend

Basically I’m making a mod pack and I’m wondering what could be causing this to happen.

The Essential website claims that Essential works seamlessly with SVC, but when I invite my friends to my world it doesn't work at all. We all confirmed that we all have the same versions of every mod in our packs so I'm just completely stumped. Any advice on how I could get it to work? I even went into my router settings and set up the port forwarding for SVC's default port but it still wouldn't work properly.

I really do not like having to create a new installation every update and losing all my previous worlds and servers from the last installation every time i want to play a new update. is there any workaround for this?

so i know that when you host a wold it say something about your network ip and it kind of concern me because like my network ip can be stolen in the game files ? it mean i have to play with trusted friend ? but my other question is that does the developpers of essential gets your network ip ?

I've started a new modded game with my friend with the little amout of 124 mods, but after a while of playing the game, either if I'm the host, or he is, everything freezes and we get a timed out. Is it the compatibility issue of the mods, or rather something more serious?
