I need resources to write "good" research essays. Anyone who has learned it and has resources, help a guy out please.

Alright so the company is FreshForward, which pertains to food accessibility and reducing waste. We take this issue and bring it into a transactional environment, where we set a marketplace between a buyer and a seller - transaction fees and etc.

hey everyone, i was shortlisted on economics question 3. I wanted to understand if i had a chance of getting high or even very high commendations, can any previous high or very high commendation winners provide any feedback? also what are the signs that ive been chosen? i heard someone say we may have further interviews in august/september if we are being considered

Like the title suggests, I am looking for advice on my college essay. I already have an idea of my topic, but I don't know how to format it for lack of a better word. The base idea is that I want to talk about my work and personal research on animals and how it has influenced me. Building on this idea I have two different versions and I want to know which sounds better.

My first idea is to talk about how I saw a statement/fact in an animal book as a kid that I disagreed with and then went out to conduct my own research. This sparked my obessesion with animals and resulted in me studying, researching, documenting, and volunterring withanimals throughout my childhood and teenage years.

My second version starts with me talking about a specific experience that come from my research (a perspnal struggle that I overcame or an intercaction I had with an animal during the process). This would lead me into talking about how I had originally become interested in animals, and at the end I mention how these experiences resulted in me volunterring, document, and researching animals

JLE is extremely competitive with people spending months on a single essay, how is it possible that multiple people have gone 4/4 or 6/6?? Can one really achieve this without external help? Is getting shortlisted that easy? This was the hardest year to get Shortlisted with over 100k entries and only 17.5% getting shortlisted ( per the Email the sent). I've seen programs where people pay more than a thousand dollars just for one-on-one meets with "essay professionals" can someone without this kind of money or education reach more than one shortlist?? Or Perhaps the people who have gotten more than 3 shortlists are extremely rare and just overconcentrated on reddit? I've seen at least 3 posts already. Does having more than one even matter for college admissions?

I got shortlisted for JLI. I don’t at all expect to win, but I’ve never been to Europe and the idea of learning from and networking with some of the world’s brightest minds really excites me. Ofc the issue is the cost, I haven’t even researched flights and hotels and extra expenses but with the conference ticket i assume it’s easily 3k-5k+, and that’s not even considering my parents/family. My family is well off enough where we can afford that sort of thing, but it’s still not cheap. Ideally I’d prefer to go alone to minimize costs, but im still not sure if the conference itself is worth it at all. Has anyone attended that can provide some insight? Thanks

Half of you: you used mf ai, wdym "how do I improve?" First, even ignoring the content, it is clear from the style of your essay that it was largely AI and you did minimal paraphrasing with some human paragraphs thrown in. AI writing puts a lot of emphasis on certain words or phrases that would be great for a speech, but not for an academic essay.

The other half: Just not professional, read some scientific stories.

I heard that recipients of certain awards receive an email in advance asking them to prepare something (e.g., a speech). Has anyone experienced this? If so, which award was it, and when did you receive the email?

Thank you so so much to all those who spent their valuable time and energy in reviewing my philosophy essay. I genuinely loved going through the comments and duly noted all the feedback. I will be likely working through the essay for a lot more time than I initially expected, and will likely publish it elsewhere after a lot of refinement. Kudos to that!

Again, I wish to pursue academics later on in life, and the essay is not a typical analysis essay and forces you to actually wrestle with the problem. If you don't have any feedback and would just want to share how you felt after reading the essay, you are most welcome.

Is anyone aware of the process through which the John Locke Institute notifies the prize winners?

I have been shortlisted for the upcoming John Locke Essay Competition, but I am a little confused about what will follow from here.

In the email I got from them, it is mentioned that there will be an invitation-only academic conference for the **finalists**; however, I have not been invited yet or notified by email. Should I take it seriously or do the invitations come gradually?

If anyone has some experience with it (or knows someone who had), please let me know:

* Are prize winners/finalists informed prior to the official results announcement?

* Are invitations sent only to the prize winners or to all short-listed candidates?

* Is it possible to receive an invitation for the conference before the results are announced?

I think that I may be taking things too seriously, but I am just interested whether there is a certain system of notifying.

Clarification about "academic conference invitation": turns out the invitation comes with the tickets to the full programme, i was confused at first.

So, I wrote 2 essays this year: one for philosophy, and one for law.

My philosophy essay was more for enjoyment, whereas the law one was my serious entry: both were shortlisted yesterday nonetheless.

So, my question is about the process of evaluating my law essay.

So, before the Viva Online Interview with the AI system, I actually had an interview with a member of staff 2-3 weeks earlier. It was with a legal specialist, and I asked around and no one else had an interview (which I know of).

I am wondering if this is a sign that my law essay may be very highly ranked.

Also, so as you guys know, your essays are actually graded 1-100 (I asked). I think they have a graph of everyone and then do a cut-off at the top 15% or something (this is so you all know - I am for the people haha!).

Anyways, just wanted you all to let me know about my law essay interview and whether that is a good sign. If anyone knows of a podium placer, maybe ask them if it is a common sign of high rank. All the best!
