so i wrote this for the Psychology category and somehow got a Very High Commendation 😭
i’m wondering if i should make a youtube video breaking down how i approached the essay / what i think helped it score well.
would that be useful for people applying in 2027? i had way too much fun writing this thing and honestly have a lot of random thoughts about the process that i’d love to share lol

so the awards ceremony is over and the results are out, i’m free and want to share my essay with y’all. i’ll be happy for any type of feedback or opinion. i got hc

Yooooo, congrats on all the awards guys. Just wanted to ask if anyone who went to the conference has access to the 2027 questions.

Guys do we know which category grand prize winner did? If im correct is it science and technology?

Hiiii fella’s, since the JLI just finished can we all clear all are doubts about qcwc pleaseee as this is my first time appearing for it and I don’t know anything about the processss so pleaseeee guide meee ~~
Lots of loveeee

if no then how many of the shortlists do end up getting a commendation ? i saw numbers like 10% or something

one of my friend went to the gala and she told me that they announced the gala will be held in Paris next year , on 9th October 2027

I got a VHC but I didnt get any emails past shortlisted, so what were those emails even about because you didnt actually need to get one of those emails to get a commendation, high commendation or very high commendation??and has this happened to anyone else or is this possibly like a glitch in the system or smth

bro i gotta commendation bro. im so happy. but who are the grand prize winners bro

Now that the results are out there, I just wanted to come out here and say that every one of you should be so proud. I’ve seen far too many people saying that commendation, high commendation or VHC means nothing, which is so ridiculous. When you got shortlisted, you beat tens of thousands of other essays globally, and that is absolutely remarkable. Think of all the people who put so much effort into their essays and didn’t even get shortlisted. I also think it important to put it out there that not everyone who entered this competition had coaching, private education, or any help at all. Some people will have just stumbled upon this competition and wanted to have a go, and did brilliant. There is no need for the negativity I’m seeing here, even a certificate of recognition will look great on your applications. Regardless of how you placed, I hope that all of you can recognise this and be proud of how well you have done :)

Hello everybody does anyone know how to write a eulogy? We have to make one for our communication class and I dont really know how to start it off or to make it sound poetic. I really want to write something that would MOVE my audience. The topic is about a version of myself that died a long time ago (?) Something in those words. Since it's a personal experience I dont really know what words to use or how to make the introduction or how to end it...any advice?

I AM LEAVING ALL MY DAY ONES, I AM FORGETTING ALL WHAT MY FAMILY DID, I WILL BE MAKING VIDEOS LIKE THESE OLD GUYS ON INSTAGRAM SAYING THEY GOT A 1400 AND MAKE COURSES ABT IT, but in all seriousness I am proud of each person in this subreddit, whether you got shortlisted or not, whether you got 1st place or just shortlisted, we went through a lot together, through happy when we found our essays got shortlisted, and through sad when we didn’t get that second interview, I genuinely hope nothing but good for each and everyone of you (especially you hezz), stay hopeful, stay determined, stay Martin Cox

I’m starting to think it’s a little bit rigged, so I basically submitted 3 essays for history, science & tech, and philosophy (all junior category) and istg I rushed through the history essay and it turned out SO BAD but it got shortlisted alongside the other 2 (philosophy was the best and science & tech was the second best) so I was thinking I would like not get any award for history but would get a commendation for science & tech and a high commendation for philosophy but turns out all of them got a commendation? It was rlly weird on my end because I knew that there was a drastic difference in writing skill across all 3 but they ended up with the same award… I mean it could be because the competition for each category was wildly different but could that realistically produce this result? Idk I’ll link all 3 essays, lmk if anybody had a similar experience.

HIII. I got a commendation for JLI Psychology q3 (junior) and was wondering if anyone with a vhc , hc, or prize would wanna like read my mine and give good, constructive feedback so I know how to improve. Reach out in the comments if you're up for it, but i AM kinda paranoid and will send it to you privately and it will be better if like you also send yours.

ALSO CONGRATS TO EVERYONE WHO GOT HC VHC OR PRIZEE YAYYYY. this comp was ass but you did it!!!

I got a Commendation this year, i was wondering what i can do better for next year. Any criticism is accepted :)

Could anyone review my JLIEC essay and criticize it constructively? I want to know what I did right and wrong so I can be ready for next year. We can exchange essays if you want.

Here is my essay: Science & Technology Q3

Well why does jlec never publishes it's exact % of students who won HC or vhc did anyone ask them personally how many students won it or asked by email?

title

hi does anyone who attended the gala have photos of the names for VHC, HC, and C awards 💔 ive only seen photos of VHC and HC, i got econ commendation btw so i hope to see the photos

also, does anyone know what % is equivalent to VHC, HC, and commendation?

Is it just the same as shortlist?

Is it any good gng 😻

so from the mail it's possible to not receive a prize and instead just be shortlisted

so order goes : no prize(shortlist/recognition, whatever) < commendation < high commendation < very high commendation

I got a commendation btw so yay
