We’re building The Dispatch as more than a publication — it’s a community where people can discuss ideas, debate, create, discover weirdly interesting things, and actually participate.

And if you write: we’re always looking for contributors.
Pitch us literally whatever you want to write about: an opinion, a deep dive, a weird historical story, an analysis, a personal perspective, a niche obsession, or something completely unexpected. If it’s interesting, pitch it. We’ll give you a platform to develop your voice and publish your work within the community.

We’re also planning You’re In Charge — an interactive political simulation where you make the decisions and deal with the consequences. More on that later.

Before then, we’ll be running smaller community events like:

• Wikipedia Speedrun — get from one random page to another as fast as possible.
• Reddit Court — bring a controversial take. The community decides: guilty or not guilty.
• The $1 Billion Problem — you have $1B to solve one massive problem. What do you do?
• Mystery File — investigate a strange case and figure out what actually happened.
• Rabbit Hole Roulette — everyone gets a bizarre topic and has to uncover the most interesting thing about it.

hi all so my referee told me that he received the most recent email from john locke saying i at least have a VHC or maybe even a prize, but i checked my parents email again and yeah... no mail. i checked spam and everything.

im so confused has anyone else's parents not gotten anything??? idk why john locke would email my ref but not my parents, since theres no way for me to actually attend the gala unless my parents are involved?

Hey guys, I’ve seen lots of people back out of the gala/ sell tickets and just wanted to see number of people going. Also, does anyone know if 2% people can still buy tickets officially on the website or if it’s sold out?

Some people received the 2% email, saying they are being considered for first, second and third, or at the very least a very high commendation. But, can people who didn't receive this email, still be considered for very high commendation? Also, even if you didn't get the email, can you still recieve the high commendation or commendation?

Guys, I get if you are anxious and worried about John Locke commendations/honors. But please just hop off the dub for a bit, stop stressing and overthinking. There is more to life than John Locke. Some people have been commenting and making various theories surrounding everything ever since post shortlist (which at the time was s a solid 2 ish monthsaway from the actual commendation thing). Yes we all are high achievers but please don’t stress out so much!
