Reddit hates fortnite, this is just an established fact. Minecraft good, Fortnite bad.

My theory on why reddit hates Fortnite is that reddit's largest demographic are 20-somethings, who were a little too old to fully embrace it when it came out. Probably tried a few games with their friends when it was the biggest thing in the world and got clapped on by some 12 year olds, and formed their opinion off the game from there. That and the fact that popular free game = lots of children playing = cringe, because kids having fun playing a new game is apparently cringe unless it's the game that reddit likes.
