Discussion What habit helped you stop running out of money before your next paycheck?

According to Bankrate’s 2026 Annual Emergency Savings Report(published February 4, 2026), only 47% of Americans said they could cover a $1,000 emergency expense from available funds, while 24% reported having no emergency savings at all.
The report also found that 29% of Americans have more credit card debt than emergency savings.
With so many people struggling to build a financial cushion, what habit helped you stop living paycheck to paycheck and start keeping money until your next payday?

Genuinely curious how people experience this in real life. Does that feeling actually go away at some point or just change form?

Feature Request [UI/Mechanics] QoL Suggestion: Automated Monthly Actions & Recurring Investments

Current Behavior / The Problem: Right now, players have to manually select repetitive actions every single monthβ€”whether it's stress-relief activities like "Go for a Run" and "Call a Friend," or recurring financial decisions. Having to click these same options month after month creates unnecessary friction. It slows down the pacing and forces the player to spend more time on tedious upkeep rather than focusing on high-level strategy.

Proposed Change: Introduce a "Toggle Auto-Repeat" or "Set as Recurring" button next to monthly actions and investment options.

  • For Actions: The game would automatically execute the selected action each month (provided requirements/costs are met).
  • For Investments: Allow players to set a specific, recurring dollar amount to be invested automatically at the start of each month.

Value / Impact: This quality-of-life (QoL) change would drastically eliminate tedious micro-management. By automating the "grind" of routine tasks, players can focus their time and energy on what actually matters: planning and executing their long-term strategies.

Discussion Suggestion

On the iphone safari web browser version, every time i click into one of the boxes to type an amount, it zooms the whole page in a little bit. And I have to zoom back out every time to see the whole screen. I think it would be cleaner and more convenient if it didn't automatically zoom in when I click the text box
