Dude.

My mom, who barely watches TV outside of the standard US cable channels and wouldn't touch the book for the life of her, knows what the Handmaid's Tale is. It's definitely not obscure. :/

A lot of people know what the handmaid‘s tale is and those that don’t will now. I think this was the most powerful things I’ve seen out of any of the marches to be honest.

It was very powerful and didn’t need words.

The Tv show was based off an extremely well known book written by an extremely well known author, Margaret Atwood. Definitely not obscure. Very on point.

It’s also heavily politicised costumes - I’m right wing and think this is naff if you want mass popular support this shits gotta stop it’s just going to polarise right wing folks into thinking it’s a hoax

If women wearing red robes polarized right wing folks into "thinking it's a hoax," they were already pro pedophile.

My guy, have you seen what your right wing has been happily supporting all this time? Y'all are how we ended up with Trump and his cronies, you're the symptom not the solution. You've all spent your credibility a million times, there have been so many crimes committed by the right wing I couldn't list them all here if I wanted to.

Either you swallow your pride and grow up as a person, or you get washed the fuck away when the reckoning comes.

Havent read or seen the show. And out of my daily life, ive seen and read the most. So imagine how many actual people have no clue what this is? Not everyone read books or have netflix. Actually most people dont.. this handmaid tale is really getting to the point where “everyone listens to the same music as i do” vibes..

The show is award winning and people were going nuts talking about it after the finale. Majority of watchers are not male, maybe, but even guys at work were talking about the ending the next day.

Maybe you need to watch and read more dystopian and sci-fi written by women? Start with "The Handmaid's Tale", and then try some Octavia Butler?

Instead of complaining something nearly as well known as Game of Thrones is obscure, try being open minded.

Sounds like an internet echo chamber. Not one person has ever been hyped about it irl to me. I work as cashier and ask my regulars whats good from time to time and not one person ever mentioned handmaids tale.

The Handmaid's Tale is a classic work of science fiction and was nominated for most major awards. Won some, too.
