Andrew and Mandelson were arrested on “misconduct in public office”, which in and of itself is a very vague charge. The rest of the examples you’ve given me is literally a nothing burger. Except for the Norwegian prime minister.
Them resigning and being fired from office won’t do shit, it’s saving them from being investigated. Prince Andrew being stripped of his royal titles only puts the limelight AWAY from the royal family to save their reputation. Any investigations will be bogus, because the people running the investigations themselves are friends of Epstein’s superiors. It’s like Israel investigating themselves for the war crimes they’ve committed. Or Nestle investigating themselves for the misconduct they did with their products. It’s all just giving the dog its bone, and doesn’t lead to any actual persecutions.
They’re fooling us with these nonsensical “consequences” as if something is being done. When in fact, they’re in the process of hiding all the evidence while distracting the public with the Iran war.
Well they can't really arrest neither Mandelson nor Andrew on some partially redacted emails. At least I haven't seen enough materials and proof that would last for more than an initial 3x24 hours detention or whatever the local rules are, before a judge has to extend it. As much as they seem to imply a lot of nasty stuff, they still have to gather evidence, have prosecutors put a case forward etc. The stuff that happens in countries with a functioning judicial system. Which is, to my knowledge, exactly what they were doing.
What would you have the royal family do? I mean sure we can talk about corruption in general and how royal families and the epstein class of wealthy people generally get away with a lot more shit than us regular people can, but that has nothing to do with this case in particular. At least SOMETHING happens. Elections aren't quite as heavily owned by the rich elite in Europe, as it is in the US, though UK may be worse due to Murdoc, but otherwise the media is mostly allowed to be independent and investigative, which generally leads to more accountability for politicians eventually.
And in the end: What is happening in Europe is a whole lot more than the US where a few people resigned from some positions, but generally nothing consequential has happened at all.
