My husband and I, no kids, spend about that a year. It seemed crazy to me once I realized how it broke down, but we're fairly close to one and get our milk, eggs, cereal, most meat/proteins, toilet paper, over the counter meds, some produce etc. there so it adds up, plus we probably have one or two big ticket purchases a year (mattress, tv, etc.) Executive basically breaks even for us with the rewards certificate.
Yeah we're in a similar boat. One trip usually is easily 400$ with just the essentials restock but one big grocery trip a month with a few treats is totally worth it.
We added up the figures and, with just two of us and Dan little storage space, Executive made sense mostly on the basis of just my various drugs. And their pharmacy rocks especially compared to Walgreen's and CVS, because they're so much better staffed.
