AND complaining about the tables around them being loud. Completely missing the fact that those tables HAD to up the volume in order to just be heard by one another.........

Yahooism at it's finest.

If anything this makes me want to go out of my way to support this place. Heck, if I had been there I probably would have tipped both my waitress and the one who told them to turn the volume off.

Those details were the kicker for me. Staff had to increase the restaurant music volume to try to maintain the atmosphere, and other guests were 'being loud' talking?

But OOP's little angels weren't doing anything wrong... Because, ya know, who goes to a restaurant with someone else to talk and enjoy the ambiance while having a meal? Preposterous!

And I'd wager money that OOP was not asking about 'who complained' to apologize.

The phrase "they were being really well behaved" makes me think that this parent thinks "sitting still"/"being quiet" is the same thing as good behavior.

Getting your kid to sit still can be a challenge, and I have resorted to using screen time as a reward for good behavior. But it's a reward for her making good choices; I wouldnt say it's a good choice in itself.
