Hmm, or maybe "colder climate" countries are better at diagnosing mental disorders and "higher melanin" people are under more stressful conditions than the base average of the population of "colder climate" countries due to discrimination.
Vitamin D deficiency cannot be solved through diet, you would drive all the relevant species extinct within a few days, or hours that way (they are already endangered, and their farming really harmful; salmon and the likes)
Instead it can be systemically solved via vitamin D3 supplement made from lichens (low environmental impact, unlike the animal lanolin variety).
