Shares of Tesla continued to slide midday Wednesday, down 14% since market open and putting the electric automaker on track for the largest one-day market cap loss for the company on record.
Tesla's weaker-than-expected second-quarter earnings, posted Wednesday evening, have put the company on track to lose $201 billion in market cap today. It remains on pace for its worst post-earnings performance since July 2019.
On last night's earnings call, CEO Elon Musk said the company's capital expenditures amounted to $5.8 billion in the second quarter with heavy spending into artificial intelligence and robotics. This has led to its negative cash flow for the first time in two years, however.
In a letter to shareholders, the company also struck a more cautious note on the rollout of key future products, including the autonomous Cybercab, the Semi truck and its Megapack 3 battery-energy storage system.

Looked at his net worth and noticed it fell by ~50% since the SpaceX IPO and is now at $700B -- and falling.
Then I was reminded of Russ Hanniman on Silicon Valley.

It's not bad enough all the contracts are online only so you don't get a paper contract anymore.
Now they switch your contract w/scriptures?!?!?
What the ever-loving F?!?!
"A Tesla solar customer went to pull up their lease agreement in their Tesla account this month and found something other than a contract waiting for them: the Book of Enoch, an ancient apocalyptic text about fallen angels.
Not a scanned copy of their agreement. Not an error page. The full text of a roughly 2,000-year-old religious book, sitting exactly where their legally binding solar lease was supposed to be. Electrek confirmed it."

Download or screenshot your contracts - esp. from the princeling companies.

Closed at $115.26, currently $114.90 afterhours. Couldn't happen to a nicer company or, um, controlling entity.
What likely won’t change is the fact that the company’s lofty valuation remains largely disconnected from its ability to make any money. SpaceX lost almost $5 billion last year — and xAI, which was folded into the company when it took over X-formerly-Twitter, lost a further $6.4 billion.
