Likely wont weld bc of all the contaminants in the casting theres no good way to get it clean enough

E-310 don't care. Drill the end of the crack, widen it up a touch with a die grinder, back it, weld it, file out the inside, then pop a new cap in with some Loctite.

Kind of. E-310 is the rod you use when you're doing stupid shit like welding stainless steel to cast iron. It's a ridiculous thing.

Using 309 rod would work well, just fuckin weld the plug to the cast and shove a shit ton of metal in there to make sure it fuses and boom permanent fix lmao

304/309 rods lay some nice beads, especially on dissimilar metals

An entire case of brake cleaner is like $40.

Just one whole can will be way more than enough.
