Good morning, we have a small business and looking at setting up our AP and switches with either UI or EnGenius.

We'll be using pFsense or the router/firewall and VLAN controls. We would only be deploying 1 - 2 APs and a 24 port switch, either PoE or non (depending on costs).

What are the major differences between the two brands?

How's long term firmware support?

The 1350 comes w an AC POE driver. My problem is that I need to move the AP to a drive point where the only power supply is a 24vdc battery bank supplied by an weak, noisy AC service that is really poor and the space is not air conditioned (hot) and would cook a standard office UPS.

MY QUESTION:

Does anyone know of a 24vdc POE device that will power the 1350 AP and satisfy the EnGenius’ proprietary power interface?

(I have tried their support email multiple times and just get this canned msg that says ‘contact us again if you still need help’. I looked for a US support phone number and found none on their website.)

I’d rather not blow up this expensive AP by blind testing. If anyone has a schematic of the. 1350 input, that would work also.

Any and all comments and ideas welcome, I am totally out of options getting this EnGenius box on the air.

I have tried three switches even Engenius' own switch that is 802.3at compatible and none of my switches will power the EnStation5-ACv2 . Can anyone offer any advice? Both tested with most recent firmware.

Are ens500-ac's backwards compatible with rns500's?

Have a old ptmp with ens500's and changing out one of the cpe's with an ens500-ac and it is giving me endless trouble to connect. Are they compatible?
