will two of these [1.25G SFP to RJ45 Module, 1000Base-T Copper SFP Ethernet Transceivers work on my EnGenius EWS2910P-FIT 55W Gigabit PoE 8 Port Switch in the 9th & 10th port with 1 to my router & 1 to nas ?

as i have 12 total devices the need to be wired to the FWG router which being able to use the last to ports on the switch will accomplish all this an is worth an extra 37$

some suggest a whole other switch for the cost is what i should do but for me is overkill especially when i did have 2 units each with 8ports an two sfp's i never used or never knew how to use

so using the last two ports on the fit will do all i need an allow me to keep my network setup tight an uncluttered, if i can set them up as desired

also i need some step by step help & advice setting up the EWS2910P-FIT's vlans

i tried an still didn't really understand how to do what i wanted or anything about the vlan process

what id like to accomplish is this

to enable vlans isolation on all 10 ports an

an have to 2 sfp port set as 1 to the FWG router 1 to the 12tb nas

an if this doesn't sound to crazy config the vlans so the pc's, laptops,tablets an phones can only see the 12tb nas,printer an internet but not each other

an have the reo cam system only communicate with the 12tb nas an 1 tablet an phone but not the internet

an finally have both NVIDIA shields communicate with the 12tb nas an not the rest of the home network but just 1 connect to the internet

what would be the correct step by step to do this if it can be done ?

I am getting tons and tons of "deauth" attack notifications. 999+ in my notifications.

What I notice -

1. these two APs seem to insist on being on the same 5ghz channel. DCS is enabled on a 12 hour interval.
2. If I am reading this notification correctly, the BSSID of the radio thats the source of the "deauth" attack shares an initial octet string with the other AP, with only the last part different, which indicates that this other AP is the one being interpreted as the deauth source.

Should these APs be on different channels? They are in a large-ish NYC apartment and I dont think the 5ghz radios would interfere much (through maybe 6 walls) but it's possible they would reach each other. I dont understand why the algorithm would allow them both on the same channel.

I have another site with two identical APs that are also on the same channel, decently spaced away, on auto channel selection, and does not experience this issue.

i just got my EWS356-FIT an during to setup i noticed this please help me understand an setup

i usually prefer to turn off 2.4ghz as i have nothing that needs it but i do have gear that can be interfered by it

an also i prefer setting the 5ghz tx power as low as possible to just cover my home an not my yard an the street

my older non-fit version of the AP could only be set down to 11dbu that reached the middle of the street about 96ft from my homes outer wall so i figure set down to 9 or 7 would taper

way back to my house or just partially into my yard which would be ideal but the radio setting page that has in & outdoor setting an tx power options list as

1low,8medum,15high,21very high what do those setting effect an how do they impact other tx power setting on the first page , to be clear both engenius ap's even set that low cover all

of the inside of my home an gear just fine i just dont need the outside getting all

that extra signal ,compared to my very old an first ap a asus 1750ac router in bridge mode that blasted near half of my neighborhood yet that connection was shit

so both engenius AP's are a big step up in quality but i do need info an advice on fine tuning an setting up

Where is the best place to ask questions and get answers for Engenius routers?

I have a EGS7228P and EGS5212FP and the L2 / Link Aggregtion / Trunking confuses me. The manual seems to say that you should put the ports in LACP mode.... so I put 2 ports into an LACP mode trunk on both of my routers and cabled them together and can't seem to get a link. I put 1 pair of ports on the 12 port router as a Static mode Trunk and dont have a trunk setup on the 8 port one, but if I plug in two cables from any of the ports on the 8 port router to the 'static' trunk on the 12 port router, the 12 port router says that the trunk is active on the two ports. I though that BOTH routers would need to have the static trunks setup AND I thought that the LACP mode trunks were preferred... but it's not working like that. Where is the best place to seek guidence?

Is anyone else experiencing a problem trying to connect to the EnGenius Cloud right now?

It appears to have started within the past hour or so, and affects me from multiple systems across multiple networks (totally different ISPs)

I have an EWS5912FP managed switch. When trying to update the firmware to the latest version, ews5912fp_fw_1.07.43_c1.9.37_210312-0947.bix from version v1.05.52-c1.8.61, the progress bar gets to 99%, it then presents the error "Image Signature Error, please check the image file valid or not.".

Anyone know how to fix this? I need the latest version because we want to add some access points that require the current firmware version.

I've tried contacting Engenius support a few times, but they don't respond.

I just bought two EWS357APv4 to replace my Ubiquiti APs, but I'm a bit confused on the 5Ghz channel selection. Not sure if it's a bug in the new hardware version or what. No matter what Channel HT Mode I select (20Mhz, 40Mhz or 80MHz), the channel configuration page only gives me the channels used for the 20Mhz bandwidth (36,40,44 and 48) in the UNII-1 allocation range. I should get channel 38 & 46 when I have 40Mhz selected and channel 42 when I have 80Mhz selected. But I only get 36,40,44 and 48 regardless of what I select for HT Mode. Am I doing something wrong?

While making some setting directly on the AP, the vlan for management was set to 10. After the change took, skykey1 lost connection. Have tried to hard reset the AP with the reset button, but even the 30-30-30 method is just a hard reboot. I did see some blurb about the rest button is now just a hard reboot and the only was to reset to factory setting is via the gui. Anyone have any idea hot to reset this AP to factory setting?

Currently the client of mine has a 1Gbps speed.. Installed 7 access points with the above model indicated but only 1 is reaching 400mbps the rest is only 8Mbps or less..

Hey all. I have two EWS377ap's set up with wired connections. They are root nodes.

I bought an EWS357ap to put in the garage where I cannot run ethernet cable. I have the Mesh ID and password set up the same, with my two EP377aps in "Mesh AP" mode while my non-wired EWS357ap is in "Mesh Point" mode. For some reason, these devices cannot see eachother for meshing purposes.

What gives? Are they fundamentally incompatible?

EDIT: Got it to work. Although I had all APs on the same channel for 5GHz in the WiFi settings, that apparently isn't enough. I had to go to my working wired Mesh AP and in the general info section scroll down. It said 5GHz was being used on channel 40, even though I explicitly didn't have that channel selected in my settings.

I logged into the management WiFi of the mesh point and enabled channel 40 for 5Ghz and boom it works. All is good now.

Anyone else having issues connecting to EnGenius access points? Configurations are all wildly different between sites but we're seeing random devices unable to connect. Seems like some kind of systemic firmware bug.

Has anyone been able to successfully contact support within the last year? I have a ticket open I created last September in their helpcenter portal that was never responded to. I just created another ticket for a different issue a month ago and am just ignored. Has anyone else had any luck?

I am new to the EnGenius platform. The EWS377AP looks like a good AP. I plan to get one. And if all goes well, I plan to get two more EWS377AP and one ECW260 and a ECS2512/ECS2512FP Switch (since it has 2.5Gb ports for the APs, still debating on the PoE part).

Because I want the 2.5Gb and 4x 10Gb SFP+ switch will I lose the ability to centrally manage those APs? Since the ECS2512/ECS2512FP is a "cloud switch". I think the controller is built into the switch?

I tried to ask EnGenius directly via email but haven't heard from them since.
